What does everyone think of it? Do you think its improved? Is the sawed off shotgun overpowered? What's your preferred weapon?

Every complaint I had about gears 2 has been fixed. Only thing I dislike so far is the power of the retro lancers bullets, I feel it could stand to be slightly weaker. Not much, it's just a smidgen too powerful when compared to the other rifles. It seems almost like a full auto hammerburst, with a hell of a kick.
Well I have always been a fan of Gears, so my opinion doesn't count for much. But I love it, improved from the first 2 games in everyway.
The Sawn-off is a little nooby, but I wouldn't say it's OP. It has a massive reload time and if you miss, you can consider yourself good as dead.

I love it so far, pretty much every problem from Gears 2 has been fixed. I don't think the sawed off is over powered, the regular shotgun can instagib at the same range, the sawed off just widens the area infront of you at the expense of range. All of it.
Plus I'll feel super smug in the full game playing as the Cole Train with a gold retro lancer.

It's absolutely great! Took me a bit to get used to the new Sawed-Off and Retro Lancer, but now I can pretty much dominate with any combination with them. The new executions are great fun and the overall MP experience is much better, though sometimes I get disconnected from LIVE altogether and get sent back to the menu. Weird huh?
I can't wait for the full game. Hopefully it will be a powerful GotY candidate.

CliffyB has been saying that there are problems sometimes with the volume of players on the dedicated servers but that they are updating them constantly to cope. So keep trying!MercurySteam said:

I guess I can't complain about a MP this good in it's Beta stage, but I got a scare that suggested that my primitive Draytek router firmware was blocking off my LIVE ports again, though I've seen it happen to some of my friends on LIVE so I'm not too worried anymore.Cpt Corallis said:

I've never really played any console shooters for any decent amount of time, so naturally I suck but I'm throughly enjoying it. Matchmaking is excellent, it was easier to find a game when there were 600 people playing as opposed to Black Ops' several thousand.
