Screw this, where's my Mass Effect RPG?

No, this is good, too. Just, as far as games I wanted more from, I wasn't thinking GoW first and foremost.

Somehow I'm getting mental images of steroid-fed meatheads as board game shop assistants.

I'm just not sure how seriously I can take this.

The price is a little steep for me but it looks interesting. If my lad was older I might have taken a punt.

The Game of Thrones board game came out ages ago. It's pretty good and already has two expansions.

This is boarding on insanity!

[sup]Look, somebody had to do it.[/sup]

Regardless, I still hold my opinion that the franchise would translate pretty easily into the film world.

Fantasy Flight Games, your awesomeness knows no bounds
True. Particularly not those involving a standard kitchen table. *angry/happy fistwave at Descent and Arkham Horror*

BOT: I love a few of FFs games but will probably give this a miss becuase I don't really see how Gears of War makes a good board game. Has anyone played their Starcraft game? Also how is Hero clix a fit? Don't all the characters pretty much have the same abilities?

Well colour me interested. When I read the title of the thread I was bemused, but the actual content of the board game sounds mint.

Well, its Fantasy Flight, so the game mechanics will at least be decent and the material quality will be good, but like almost everything else they put out, its overpriced. Only extreme GoW fans are going to pay that much. They really need to fix their pricing models.

Fantasy Flight do publish good board games for the most part given their previous treatment of video games this one might also be balanced and fun.

Although this is pretty old news.

Fantasy Flight have published THREE games based on that universe;

Card game: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite.asp?eidm=10&enmi=A%20Game%20of%20Thrones%20LCG

Army of figures battles game: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite.asp?eidm=105&enmi=Battles%20of%20Westeros

And a Risk-esque conquering game: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite.asp?eidm=172&enmi=A%20Game%20of%20Thrones:%20The%20Board%20Game%20Second%20Edition

...so technically that's even better.
