Gears of War vs Halo

I fellow Escapist's I'm a fan of both games but i was wondering the other day to my self who would win in an all out fight. I know that in halo they have better weapons like the mac cannon and i know gears of war of the the hammer of dawn but I'm just asking a simple question and i don't want people taking sides just want a straight answer

halo, unfortunately, im rooting for gears lol.
hale has spaceships, more than one planet, a friggin relay of SUPER mac's that can fire a shell large enough to wipe out a city o, every 3-5 seconds was it?
the hammer of dawn, just does not even come close.

also, halo has spaceships. more manpower, more function armour, their vehicles make more sence... and then there is the master chief. jeah. fuck that XD

I would have to say Halo, mainly because it is set in the future and it has aliens, 2 of my faverite things

Both cant really be compared, one is from a space-scifi and the other from a post-apoca gritty scifi.

But im rootin for the CoG on a soldier vs soldier basis as the tech cant be compared fairly. It's like comparing a Space Marine with a Zulu Warrior from Africa.

The CoG mainly consists of semi to superhuman fighters in comparison to the UNSC wich consists of in majority regular humans. The CoG just has bigger and badder guns and are way more tough and have armour the size of the UNSC trooper himself .

Although CoG's do glow in the dark for some reason with their light-bits, so I guess most would just catch a bullet in the face during nihgt-time

Halo, easily. They have much more advanced weaponry, they have the use of spaceships and the Spartan and Elite armor have regenerating shields.
Plus, I reckon an energy sword would cut through a chainsaw bayonet.

I have a strong disdain for both games. They're both popular, but that's not exactly the reason I don't like them. It's because of their popularity they seem to be the reason why other games have been coping certain gameplay mechanics that I feel are being overused to the detriment of the respective genres.

Halo with its "Can only carry 2 guns" rule.
Gears with its "Chest-high walls everywhere, MUST use cover" mechanic.
Both for the "Regenerating health if you hide in a corner for 5 sec".

Well I?m not a fan of gears nor am I a fan of halo but i have played both of them. Now in a grunt against grunt battle gears would win. Yet Marcus Fenix against Master Chief well master chief has a shield so he would win that one. Now as interesting as this fight would be it is one sided the halo universe will always win as it is bigger now a more even fight would be Warhammer 40,000 against Halo but in the interest of the thread I would have to say Halo will always win a fight against Gears of War.

What does this mean exactly? Are you talking about Master Chief in a fight with Marcus Fenix? Or the main characters in a fight with each other or if by random chance the Halo space ships stumbled across Sera? I guess you'd have to say Halo purely because of the strength of the weapons, vehicles and spartans, but that won't stop me from saying Gears. The COG know how to use cover and evade. Spartans just know how to have "most heroic death" contests.

Of course Halo would win out, logically speaking.

I think the only thing Gears had over Halo as Sigma mentioned is better grunts, and that just an opinion too.

I think GoW Vs FO or BFBC2/MW2 be a more grounded choice.

Then Halo vs WH40K or SC2 again be a more grounded choice.
