One of my nerd friends got a xbox 360 achievement tattoo.

If I was going to get nerdy tattoos I'd get the gears logo, the UNSC logo, the half-life lambda, maybe a triforce with the hyrule shield and master sword, among a couple others.

I've attempted to give extra meaning to my tatoos (current and planned) by having 4 oldskool gamer tatoos to represent members of my immediate family.

Currently i have two tatoos in this vein:

* 4 space invaders down my left bicep. This represents my late father. My earliest memory of him is when i was 3 or 4 and he brought home a Spectrum 48K and he let me stay up late playing space invaders. Also we have a tradition in our family where the first born son is named William. I'm William Claringbold V, my dad was William Claringbold IV hence the 4 space invaders

* A 1up Mushroom on my chest over my heart. This represents my mother. I feel she has given me an extra shot at life. She has sacrificed a lot for me, my brother and my sister after my dad died. She worked tirelessly making sure we had a good start in life and i'll never be able to thank her enough

I have 2 more planned:

* Miles Prower on the inside of my right bicep. This represents my brother. My brother an i are very close and i'm glad to call him my best friend as well as my brother. I often feel he is my constant companion, plus my brother loved sonic growing up

* A 'Shy Guy' on my left shoulder. This represents my sister. I'm still not sure about this one as i don't think this represents my sister well. She is a shy retiring type who's favourite game growing up was Super Mario 2. This one i'm leave till last as it might change.

That's just... awesome. Very touching, you have my greatest respects.

Myself? I would get the Deadpool icon symbol on my backside.

Yeah I think the ZP tat is the most geek.. And lame..

The only one I've seen is a mate has a Space Invader alien on his right arm.

Hmm.. I spose I could get a geek related tatoo. I'd have to find somthing that is going to last, I don't want the Xbox logo or somthing. I'll start looking!

Pretty much everything is a sin. In fact, in Genesis 19:30-36, the first thing Lots' daughters did after getting their father drunk and getting themselves impregnated by him was to go out and get some ink done to celebrate the incest. Later revisions of the bible leave that bit out though, presumably because they got cheap, unprofessional tacky designs like "I Heart Dad" that couldn't be covered by something more tasteful later on.*

* May not be 100% factual.

My first tattoo isn't really nerdy. I'm getting 'memento mori' written over my heart. It means remember death, and its my way of saying remember your gonna die so enjoy life while you can. It was my aunts motto before she died and it means alot to me.

Later on however, I'm getting matching tattoos on my hips...They are gonna be small (Maybe an inch tall) exclamation marks. Black outline and hopefully yellow colouring in the middle.
I'm still not a hundred percent on this one, but I might be getting 3 dragons, one covering its eyes, one covering its ears and one covering its mouth, and have written under it 'saw it, heard it, oops...'

The psychology behind the above tats is...inexplicable, amazing as they are.

As for myself, i'll be incorporating a 13 (my lucky number, last 2 digits in my social security no. as well as house number and a alternative *nudge nudge wink wink* meaning linked to certain long-term lifestyle choices) into the half life 2 version of the lambda (replacing the '2') symbol on my right arm soon, both out of tribute to Gordon Freeman and the Offspring (because i am pretty fly for a white guy) ;]

The other geek tattoo i want done (though im not sure where, possibly inside of lower left arm though i hear that hurts like a ***** and somewhere else) is a Super-Mario Mushroom.

The old testament (and Torah) specifically says not to 'make cuttings into the flesh' or 'mark your flesh for the dead' i believe it's in Leviticus somewhere.

The bible is largely non-specific on video games and guns.

I also have plans to get a Mononoke tattoo. Most likely it will be the Spirit of the Forest (plants at foot and all) with the little kodama and trees around it. It might take up as much as half my back, or it may be an entire forearm.

My tattoos I have right now aren't that nerdy but I guess they could fit into that vein; they are as follows:
-A comet called Ishkoodah, from a book called "Hiawatha's childhood", 'bove Gandalf.
-Max riding atop the bull-like wild thing from Where the Wild things are.
-A picture by the artist Nicholas Di Genova.

Inner forearm is one of the least painful places to get a tattoo. I know.
