I hate hairy potter. It really isn't that great of a storyline. Besides, the more words you make up to write a book, the suckier the book is. "You are a wobble-dingle wizard faddle!", "Oh yeah? Well, Fakus, latinus-soundingus wordus!"

I'm probably a nerd who doesn't quite realize it. I play sports, but I do spend a good percentage of my time on video games or teh internetz. Something I hate is Anime. I like the style of drawing, but I can't stand any of the actual story lines.

Go read The Wheel of Time series, and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. I don't like potter much myself, but that's not a good way of justifying yourself IMHO. If you have to why not make mention of the repetition of the same phrase five different ways before moving on, the almost-utter-lack of 'pre-story' (as in, we learn a little tidbit in the philosophers stone that doesn't make sense till the half blood prince, for example), or the fact that the stories "hero" is so stereotypical as to be nigh indistinguishable from most fiction books.

I don't like the over-addicted MMORPGers who either lose all sense of reality, or later try to exult themselves saying how long they played, and how awesome they got.

Also, I really despise it when a really high level, skilled players go up to someone who just got started(a n00b, to be precise) and just start killing him because they "pWn all n00bz lolz". These people probably aren't even good enough to fight other players their level, so they take it out on newcomers.

I don't like anime that put needless moments of fanservice in them. I mean, if it seriously detracts from a serious plot, and doesn't really give good comic relief to make up for it, it feels too cliche and overused. And of course, people rave over it, and I find them sad.

I've never really liked table top RPGs, mostly because I think the setup takes WAY TOO LONG, and also because I have terrible luck rolling dice. Like, rolling three 1s on a D20 in a row, bad luck.

I may get crap for saying this, but despite its complexity, I don't like Magic the Gathering. I'm not much for card games anymore and I understand several can be amusing, but I find the unending popularity of Magic to be astounding. Maybe its because of my newfound frustration with so many American RPGs revolving solely around fantasy, Warcraft/Lord of the Rings style, but I'm really tired of seeing so many people at school with mountains of Magic cards.

And I don't like all the Space Marine stuff that populating America's sci-fi gameplay market when its not being overrun by fantastical Warcraft/Lord of the Rings style RPGs.

I guess ever since I started critiquing movies, anime, and games, I've come to be a bit more despondent at somewhat "geeky" trends such as these. Despite the fact that I consider myself to be geeky, I try to avoid things that become trends because most trends eventually boil down bland stereotypical versions of the originals that made them interesting in the first place.

One thing that just occured to me is cannon stuff. Like people who go and read the Star Wars books, or watch a cheap as hell spin off movie of a game, then call you out on. When your talking to someone about Star Wars and wonder what happens next and they say "Well, this, this and this happened." Not only does it remove all interpritation, but normally what is apparently now part of the cannon is much less cool than what you had in your head.

You know, I love tabletop RPGs, but I hate most of the people who play them. It's so hard to find people who don't see the game as a competition, or who aren't rules lawyers, or who aren't intent on derailing the experience as much as possible. It's not a competition to see who gets the coolest loot or does the coolest stunts; it's supposed to be a fun problem-solving game.

I HAAAAAAAATEEEEEEE YOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUU! [/bile]

(How the hell did Firefox Spell-Checker missed that one? Good for nothing bastard!)
Esthetically is actually just an alternate spelling for aesthetically (which is why spell checker didn't correct you), although the latter is usually the one that's used.

I hate it when in DnD groups there's always a dude complaining about not being able to play his half-dragon/half-demon/half-drow/half-whatsamacallit. (no, i'm not separating them there, it's for the same character)

Geez am I the only one who managed to find a decent place to play Warhammer40k at? Unless of course all of this hate is directed at the fantasy version but still its odd. The place I go to usually everyone is pretty normal. There are only a few people who get on my nerves and generally its just a bunch of random non competitive games.

Ah well whatever. I talk about geeky stuff to my friends if I want to and if any one ever calls me out on it then what the heck were they eavesdropping for?!!

Look if your embarrassed about your own hobby like its some sort of secret ritual then I don't think your enjoying it. Yes I agree WoW is annoying but generally I dont know anyone who actually likes it so maybe I'm missing something.

I guess Role-Playing Board games, I just can't get into it to save my life and the RPG video game genre is one of my favorites.
You have no imagination, and your childhood must have been sad.
Thanks for bringing this up. Quiet a lot of my geek friends who are really shy in person become real arseholes on the internet and playing online games. Having a keyboard or a controller in front of them makes them feel safe, so they take there chance to piss people off.

One for me has to be something that irriated me for a few years at my school. I'd be talking to a few of my "normal" friends in the morning and a friend of mine called Jake would come over out of the blue and start talking about his adventures the night before in Azaroth and the World of Warcraft. It was pritty fucking embarrasing, and I was good mates with usually so I couldn't really tell him to piss off.
I second that.
I dislike most anime, though. Oh, and DDR (not sure if that counts.)

I hate fanboys! Those people who dare you to say a game, other than the one the like is good to just to tell you how good the game they like is better than your favorite.

Folks who argue about canon annoy the crap out of me.
Leet speak is a horrible thing that needs to die.
I always feel extremely out of place when people start talking about hardware specs. I can understand them, but once a conversation starts including more nmbers than letters, I start trying to bail myself out.
And fanboy flame wars. Seriously. You like your thing, they like their thing, NOW SHUT THE HELL UP!
