You know, I used to trash Adam Sandler movies, mostly for them being a dumb, raunchy, slapstick-addict comedy movies. But quite recently, I found out that he has been making them not to be a refined form of art, but to have fun. He purposely got his friends and let the bad acting happen, because everyone on set were having fun time.
This one still seems to carry that sentiment, and I gotta respect him for that. He genuinely doesn't care about what people think of his movies, or whether some of them being offended. He just wants to make another dumb fun movie where everyone's having a good time, and fuck the narrative/character aspect of the storty. Hollywood probably didn't like the pitch for this movie, so he partnered with Netflix.
