How are you going to react to your kids when they state that Half-life 2 is a crappy game compared to Halo 19, or that Fallout 3 isn't a good game when you could be playing Final Fantasy 74?

I intend to raise the hypothetical children I don't plan to have on a steady diet of retro consoles so they understand what Nintendo Hard is before I let them anywhere near an updated console. If they want to play Ultra Call of Duty 15 Turbo 4D Remix: Jovian Overlords with mind impulse command interface, they're going to have to earn it. Then we'll discuss what a good game is.

OT: I'll tell the kids about the time when not every game was a remake, and that games are pretty much copy and pasted from the previous one, with little or no change.

I'd take their Playstation 27x19 and their Xbox Super 1640 away, sit them down with original contra and make them beat it with no cheats. Then if they managed that, I would say that their skills from Halo 19 have truly paid off, and they may continue their rainbow coloured bloomfest.
I'm going to say I agree. I'm not a fan of "old" games, I don't look though rose colored glasses like most retro fans.

Half-Life will be like a retro game you can play for free on the internet. The kids will still think it's great although I would guess the retail games they have then will greatly dazzle and outshine any games we currently have. Anyway, Half-Life 2 Episode 3 will be coming out around then haw haw haw.
