I've seen a couple "What is the most generic game?" threads, so I would like to know what my fellow Escapists think of "generic movies".

My choices would have to be G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and The Eye. The first is a standard action movie that rips off of Iron Man and Star Wars, to say the least. everything in that movie has been done and done better in others.

The second one is basically a shitty version of The Sixth Sense.

Are you talking about the forumalic films? Ones that feel like a screenwriter palyed Mad Libs with a genre? Most Romantic comedies fall into that trapping.

Wasn't the The Sixth Sense already a sh*tty version of itself?

Benjamin Button was like Forrest Gump, but devoid of all live and colour.

Please tell me you're joking. It was M. Night Shymalan's best movie!

The new Star Trek film was a generic version of Star Trek, taking out a lot of distinctive features and replacing them with generic parts.

Most generic eh? Anything made by Michael Bay.

In all seriousness though, most war movies are fairly cut/paste nowadays.
