Which games have you played where, halfway through, shifts in genre or style?

In Lost Odyssey, a game which I do love, there is a point quite early on where you find yourself on a boat and must find your way out. This involves stealth. In an RPG. Stealth. In an RPG. In a genre where the focus is least on the adventurey part and more on the stats and statistics and tactics, you're suddenly made to creep around the boat. Needless to say it doesn't work too well, and it is quite a bizarre change.

What does stealth get its own genre? I always thought an RPG was the sort of game MOST likely to have stealth elements...

I'd have thought FPS was the genre with the most stealth...
Well not really most FPSes are for barging in to the enemy stronghold and killing everyone the best stealth game with a First Person point of view is Thief II.
