Genre-Switching

I spend most of my time playing FPS games, while RPG, RTS and 3PS (3rd Person Shooters) take up a minority of my gameplay time. However, sometimes I feel like I want a new way to play my game. Developers have recently been creating different game genres of the same series, such as Halo Wars and Starcraft: Ghost. Haven't you ever wondered what if would be like to play MW2, an FPS, as an RTS, with one player controlling a squad of 5 soldiers in a match with 9 other people? Or how FF VII would be if it were a hack-and-slash like DMC?

So, Escapists, what genre-switching would you interesting for what games?

Um, that could be epic win or bastardization, as you've clearly stated.

Runescape as a single-player game. There's no community as of late anyways, so why the hell not?

Age of Empires as a possible RPG, Hack-n-Slash, or just Adventure. Hehe. Or Age of Mythology, either will do.
Finally
Echochrome as an Adventure/Platformer.

I would have to agree with Starcraft as an MMO, probably.
