Geometry Wars is, in my humble opinion, quite possibly the greatest arcade-style game ever created (not the most original or influential mind, just the best).
Geometry Wars 2 was a nice attempt at creating some variations on the formula. Not quite as classic, but interesting and welcome nonetheless.
Geometry Wars 3 is out now. After having spent about an hour playing it and getting to the second boss (you heard that right, boss, feels weird don't it), I'm enjoying it. It's a well put together game and feels both like Geometry Wars and not like Geometry Wars at the same time. There's enough with the new graphical style and 3D elements to annoy purists, but I think I'm going to be playing it for a while.
