Guy goes back to his old school in South West Germany, shoots people, hi-jscks a car, barricades himself in a car dealership and is eventually killed by the police.

Total: 15 dead

Looks like we can't just say its crazy Americans that keep killing each other

What's going on? Why has this macabre fad spread from the US to both Finland and now Germany? Finaland I could understand since they have such high rates of gun ownership but I didn't know Germany did.

Why do you think people keep shooting others in schools?

Maybe he didn't go to the university he wanted, and he was pissed at his school, and a bit of alcohol or drugs can give him the final push.
I don't think anybody has yet done a blood test for Drugs

You know, when Canada had a school shooting shortly after the terrible shootings at Columbine, Canadian media labeled it as 'American Style crime in Canada!'

That really annoyed me.

If a crime happens in some country by citizens of that country, it's that country's crime. This isn't 'US' crime in Germany. It's German crime, by Germans, in Germany. By saying otherwise, you're merely trying to point to finger as if crime like that magically wouldn't happen if it didn't happen in the US first.

People kill people, and it doesn't matter what race, country, age, or gender they are.

On topic, I'd say it's the crippling of the authority of the education system and the crippling (Sometime voluntary) of the authority of parents that leads youth like this into thinking that:
1) There are no consequences for their actions
2) There consequences for their actions will be minor
3) They will never get caught, because they are super awesome
4) They will be remembered fondly for doing something cool, mistaking 'cool' for 'evil'.
5) They will be remembered fondly for doing something evil, not really understanding what they are doing.

Maybe he was just a psycho... did you think of that? You know, the more the population grows the higher the likelihood that people like this will emerge.

Wait - you mean mental illness isn't restricted to American teenagers?!
I don't believe it!
[/sarcasm]

Honestly, I think most school shootings stem from a kid not being able to deal with bullying because he's either mentally/emotionally unstable or because of poor parenting and a lack of places for the student to turn to for counseling.

Is it 15 people or 16? I saw both mentioned, and when the reporter gave the account of the events I counted 16.

And I never saw a number of how many are injured, but it was definetly mentioned that people were injured. Apparently he kidnapped someone too.

And the police raided his home and "recovered 16 weapons believed to be legally owned by his father."

And, of course, as with all killers, everyone says he was an "ordinary boy."

Here here. If anytime someone shoots up a school it's an american crime. By contrast any time someone eats their gay lover's penis and lets said lover die of exsanguination from the wound it should be a german crime.

Yeah, germany how would you like to be associated with that just cuz you had someone do it first?

Germany had school shootings a long time ago already.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Steinh%C3%A4user

Why? Well the school system is pretty shit, I'd say. Quite a lot of discrimination, but not as bad as the US I reckon

People ignore the fact that there was a school "incident" in the US as early as the 1920s. The modern hype-based media just injects a 15-minutes-of-fame incentive into things.

Is that the case that the Rammstein song "Mein Teil" is based off of?

You can't really box in a whole country over one episode of shooting. It's probably just a random case of a boy getting bullied too much (which happens everywhere) who then gets fed up and shoots up ur'body (up in heir!). A dad with 16 guns also could indicate that he was some strickt-ass muhfugga'... And the such. Could also just be a random case of a psychopath who have had a desire to kill.

These people usually just go emo but there will always be the random oddball.

I believe he's trying to say that because the dude came back to Germany from America, there is a possibility that he was "corrupted by America".

No they just do a blood test for video games which until proven otherwise always comes up positive.
