I am aware that there is another thread on this already
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.373655-Xbox-360-sales-banned-in-Germany?page=1
I was hoping that some people could help me, on this site, in understanding the story better and i would pose a question. In short MS has had Windows 7, media player, internet explorer and the 360 banned due to IP infringement
If the products were mobile phones/tablets this would be a more understandable story as they could eat into Motorolas market share but as i currently understand, Motorola has no intention of producing a computer OS,a video games console or browser (though the browser could be because of Google)so my question w is how Motorola can enforce the infringements on products they are not competing against on the market?
The questions i would pose is if the same ruling happens in the US is it then a possibility that a scenario where Sony or Microsoft as an example, could sue for an IP infringement and then effectively gain market control? Possibly targeting specific countries? (if anyone as other examples of similar situations in any business area i would be interested to know)
Disclaimer my knowledge of business and IP protection and infringement comes from one module at uni.
