So, Germany just won their group and you know what that means:

[HEADING=3]Germany v England in the next round.[/HEADING]

Both of them just come of measly 1:0 victories with decent showings. I'm sure, however, that both will have an epic showcase. These are the kind of matches that'll be remembered, pride's at stake here.
What do you think? Anyone excited? Who'll win and what score?

I can't wait for the game. May the best team win (and by that I mean Germany).

Germany 2:1 England

Oh snap!

Here's some golden moments:

...and we all know how that turned out.

I hope the German's win... I'm sick of all this football, as soon as England are out it should die down a bit I hope.

Anyway, as a side note. According to Q.I. This whole must beat the German's attitude that English people have is not reciprocated, they couldn't give a monkeys about England their grudge is against Holland.

I can wish for England to get it together and put on a great show, but I can't get my hopes up that it'll actually happen. I've been hurt before.

Well there's lots of grudges in Football. Tension is on both sides every time England and Germany meet, but I guess for the English it's more personal after their 2 penalty losses in recent years (recent being relative here). For them it's almost an obsession. They celebrated the 5-1 like they'd won a championship.

I'm preparing for the worst on Sunday (from an English standpoint), yet like today I shall be willing England onwards.

I'm torn with the USA game though, I'd like to see Ghana progress further, yet I'm supporting the USA as my secondary team...I was perhaps the only person that cheered when I heard America scored, even though it meant us finishing second.

If Germany do win though, you have to promise to go all the way and win it. I put a bet on you guys before the tournament so if you have to beat us, you could at least win me some money whilst you're at it.

I'm personally more interested in Wimbledon than the World Cup, but as always I will be willing England on in the most uninterested way possible.

Personally, I think Germany's gonna win, and I'm English.

I never make predictions on scores though, just 'cos.

I am German and I hope Germany wins.
Not because I am patriotic, but because I prefer their style of playing.

/edit: I actually also wouldn't be disappointed if England won. I was in London last year, and even though I rarely spoke to English people (there didn't seem to be any in London) I still liked the subway!

The English betting on Germany? What has this world come to?

Kidding aside, I'd never bet on sports, especially not on WCs. The Winner will likely face Argentinia the next round, so that'll be one hell of a showdown. Germany beat them in 06, but there's no promises ;P.

England probably has a rivalry with many countries, on account of the fact that we've probably bet at war with everyone at some point.

Unlike Germany, the nation of peace.

My money is on Germany. They have the belief, the desire and the skill to do well. England has some of these but lacks determination and belief.

Germany went to 10 against Serbia and they pressed hard. The same happened in one of their friendlies against the Ivory coast, and they managed to make the game a draw. I honestly do not think that England are capable, though I dare to believe in the back of my mind.

Has any other nation apart from england silenced the vuvuzelas? Most if not all of our games have so far been 3/4 english fans in the stadium. Hopefully now all the african nations are nearly out, the vuvuzela will be non existant in the knockouts.
