However I missed something there: the story.
On that subject, what about the story? Good question, because all we know for sure is that it will focus on one soldier in the middle. Why does this sound familiar? Ah, yes, it is the Columbo/Agent 47 problem only inversed. See this is the thing about the Godzilla films, they suffer if they are not about Godzilla. Yes, humans were central to the movies, because someone needs to get plot points across but they were always Godzilla or the monsters around him. This was one of the key problems with Godzilla: Final Wars, it focused more on the stuff happening around him rather than Godzilla himself.
To sum up: Legendary, you have my attention with Pacific Rim. If Godzilla 2014 sucks, I will go out of my way to chop the balls off whoever runs the studio. Yes, I care about Godzilla enough to say that.
