Right now I have a PS3 but I'm planning to get a 360 later on because I absolutely loved owning one. However with both of them raises the same question everyone other gamer has when he/she has both a 360 and PS3: Which console should I buy this game for?
It really makes it difficult for me because I like playing through games to get achivements or trophies. It's not THAT big a deal for me but I still feel the need to expand my games collection for both consoles. Right now the only multiplatform game I have is Oblivion. I got it because I wanted a deep game that would keep me playing my PS3 until I get another game. But the reason I got it for the PS3 was because I read from several reviews that the graphics were slightly better and the loading times were slightly faster on the PS3. Also the Game of the Year expansions of Oblivion fit on a single PS3 Blu-Ray disc so I didn't have to run an additional disc if I played it on the 360. However there are no trophies for the PS3 port of Oblivion, which I would have loved to get as achievements on the 360.
However there are several other games that I cannot decide on which console to play them on. I have already decided to play Bioshock on the PS3 because of the extra difficulty and small additions, and I decided to get FEAR 1 and the Orange Box for the 360 because they had some issues when running on the PS3. But for other games like FEAR 2, Prototype, Assassin's Creed, Resident Evil 5, FPS's like CoD4, and upcoming multiplatform games, it's difficult to decide which console to buy the game for. Also it wouldn't feel right to rent a game I already have on one console in order to unlock the achievements/trophies on the other, especially if I had to commit lots of time and work for that game on the other console.
Anyone have advice on this dilemma? Hearing your personal experiences with this dilemma would be great too.
