Hi everyone I'm looking for a new laptop, I'm looking to spend around £400 give or take.
I know generally these threads get alot of good high quality responses. Any help would be much appreciated!

Any other questions post and I'll respond asap.

If you're not opposed to Dell laptops their 'Dell Studio' series are very good for that price-range. Mine's a Studio 15 and can run a LOT of games well, and it has a nice screen. Plus you can custom build them.

All I can say is do not get an Acer. When my Acer Aspire broke, tech support put me on hold and hung up on me, stopped answering emails after I'd done their troubleshooting shit, and even hung up on the retailer who sold it to me when they tried phoning them. (I figured maybe they'd answer a frickin retailer, guess not)

So yeah, that's all the advice I can give. Do not buy an Acer.

Well mine was 400 USD but i don't know what that'd be for you but for $400 it's not a half-bad laptop

What do you want to use it for? Do you want to run games on it? If so which?
Generally I'd like something with a capable graphics card, I don't intend to start running crysis or anything, but I may want to play LOTRO or something.

Dell's are great laptops. Mine is 5-6 years old and runs great!

I'd look into a Dell. I use mine to run MMO's and I do school work. Dell's are cheap and fairly easy to fix.

From personal experience I'd advise away from Dell. Asus and Acer are usually good from what I've experienced/heard.
