Okay... so this means 144 people voice shitty instead of 14 like oblivion? Great... well... not so... in the end it's still repetitive and boring. If they could show me wrong I would appreciate it but I learned one hard fact the hard way so far: RPGs are by default crappy and boring.

Thanks for stopping by. If you could go troll somewhere else though it'd be appreciated.

I guessed 1000, how many are in oblivion?
Oblivion had 14 VAs. 3 of those were related only to the main quest though.

Haha well, they had me fooled! I'd have said like 30 or 40

Holy crap, that's a lot of voice actors. Well, I hope that means no more "STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM" antics. This game looks pretty good, and since Bioware's behind it, that's an almost perfect guarantee of quality.

On the subject of limited voice actors, I was amazed to find out that there were only 2 voice actors for ALL the citizens in Half Life 2...

(sorry, completely off topic there really...)

Not sure if that's a good thing, or a bad thing: That much resources on voice acting could have been better spent elsewhere, but then again, who am I to judge, I never actually cared about voice acting in most RPGs as much as I cared about exploring, pillaging and looting.

Oh well, Dragon Age, or should I say, the true Neverwinter Nights 2 that never was, can't wait to pick this one up.

When I combine my love of Bioware's RPG's with this new development and the promise of varied voice acting, I am going to have to upgrade my interest level from excited to 24hr a day extreme salivation.

Oh yeah, this is awesome! As orannis said, I hope Jennifer Hale is there, but the one I'm really holding out for is Fred Tatasciore, after hearing him as Saren in Mass Effect, and as Iron Soldier in Jade Empire, then finding out he voiced Ivan the Terrible in Age of Empires III, he's my new favorite voice actor.

I would like for Brandon Keener to be in it, but seeing as how he doesn't seem to be a Bioware regular, I'm not getting my hopes up.
He was Ivan the Terrible?! Never would have guessed.

I heard Ivan a lot too. I really loved to beat up on the Russians with my Prussians of doom!

Ah, just as long as most of them deliver hilarious dialog, I'll be a happy gamer
I can see how they could do it though. If asked, I would donate my voice acting to a game for free if asked...

Don't feed the troll! Just let him wallow in ignorance.

More on topic: This. Is. Freaking. Epic.

As most of those who've seen me around these forums can easily figure out: I'm a huge...HUGE Bioware fan. In my humble opinion, they make the best RPGs on the market. Handsdown. I've been playing their games since Baldur's Gate, and haven't played one I didn't love. I'm crazy excited for this, especially since it's coming to 360 (I don't have a gaming PC). Dragon Age is the best contender so far to knock Baldur's Gate off the top of my list as the best RPG ever. I'm stoked.

Bioware, I wuv you.

Bioware have always done pretty well in the voice department though, so expect some decent performances. I'm willing to put odds on Jennifer Hale turning up in Dragon Age and maybe Raphael Sbarge and Grey DeLisle as well.
Oh, I hope so. Jennifer Hale is my favorite VA, and despite him voicing my lest favorite character in Mass Effect, I like Sbarge as well. Don't know who DeLisle is, but chances are I've heard him and don't recognize his name. Who has he played in past Bioware games?
She played Brianna the Handmaiden in KotOR II (yes, I know that was Obsidian), as well as Nalia and Viconia in Baldur's Gate and additional voices in KotOR I and Mass Effect.

She's been in plenty of other stuff as well, like Doom 3 (she was the computer voice) and Vampire: Bloodlines (Therese and Jeanette) and a load of cartoons.
Oh. Well how am I supposed to know that Grey is a girl's name? But yeah, now I know who you mean, it would be pretty cool if she was there.
I just wanted to mention to you that Jennifer Hale is also a female too. A little misinterpretation eh?

Anyways, that's a very nice number of voice actors. I'm hoping quality matches the quantity (it probably will for the main quests, obviously). Then again, the voice actors for extras/minor NPC's in previous Bioware games were not bad at all, so I have high hopes for Dragon Age's voices as well.

Was that first part just a joke, or a reference to the following quote?

If the latter, the "him" part of that was in reference to Sbarge, who most certainly is a man(although you wouldn't know it from his character in Mass Effect. burn!).

Well they did say they wanted to make a truly epic RPG... I get more excited about this the more I hear, considering the original CGI trailer was awful IMO, all the details since have been very good to hear.

The sheer variety alone will be truly refreshing after the somewhat awful oblivion.

And I'm very glad that they're not voicing the protagonist, it means I don't have to have a voice thrust upon me that I don't like. Hopefully you'll actually be able to see what you're going to say as well, I found the conversation wheel of mass effect didn't suit me at all.

144! That isn't to bad I reckon. At any rate it'll be interesting to see what Bioware does with an MMORPG. They are gods with normal ones in my humble opinion, let's see if they can make this work.

Anybody wants to break my heart, or gain eternal love by telling me whether this game will require monthly payments?

It's a SRPG. Of course there won't be any sort of monthly payments.
