Alright back to normal speak: Nexon will be creating/producing/ruining a GITS FPS mmo to be released within the next few years based on the incredibly popular cyborg action anime Ghost in the Shell.
Now for those of you who don't know - just in case - Nexon is currently widely considered to be one of the top ftp game publishers in the world or at least in the eastern world. However, what many people don't seem to know - including the people that do business with these guys - is that their management of these games, especially stateside, is extremely lacking.
Take Dungeon Fighter Online, their top moneymaker that's earned 1.5x what Maplestory has gotten with a 2 year age difference (DFO being the younger). Even Nexon admits it's their top moneymaker and the top 2-d beat em up game in the eastern world with the Korean version having numerous updates the version here at stateside has not received an update for 5 months.
5 MONTHS.
I would like to also note that we are not even close to being half a year in content behind Korea - we are at least a full year behind with 3 playable in game classes, fifteen levels of content, guild wars, free resettable skill trees and a massive amount of in-game microtransaction products missing from the version that is stateside.
To make matters even worse, there has been no update or news of any upcoming updates and many players believe it to be the sign that marks end of the game in this part of the world, some of them already getting ready to migrate to the Garena managed tDNF.
But to really put the icing on the cake, there are major issues that affect all of their games, issues that are practically world wide along with rumors of Nexon actually selling account information and mass account compromising (http://www.jeuxonline.info/actualite/33520/nexon-prepare-introduction-bourse-livre-secrets) - keep in mind that these issues are worldwide and in Korea you need the Korean equivalent of your Social Security number to even play their games. In addition on the stateside versions you have issues including but not limited to:
Games suddenly taking up over 1,000,000k and up to 2,500,000k in space at any given time (Memory Leakage)
Lack of communication between customers and Nexon
Tickets that have legendary response times to the point where it's become a joke (Some tickets taking up to 2+ years before being closed without an answer)
Games that can indirectly ruin your computer (Related to memory leakage)
Games that can and sometimes are intentionally ignored even when updates or bug fixes are needed.
Games switching publishers without what can be considered a 'sufficent' amount of warning or time to transfer accounts
Mass account banning that leads to numerous un-verified or falsified bans on innocent persons.
Auto banning system that does the same
And poor forum moderation which can sometimes lead to protesters posting pornography of all kinds in order to get some response from the company.
And they are being allowed to come near this game. I believe Neople can indeed make an amazing product, but I don't think Nexon can be allowed to handle it.
Any thoughts?
