A few years and one console cycle ago, I discovered Maximo:Ghosts to glory, a fun platformer with difficulty that frustrated the most every game who played it, as such its sequal didn't fare to well and the series died off into memory, a shame considering how fun, if insanely difficult, they were. To my joy, and frustration I discovered..

{}

Deciding that, I have nothing better to do, I decided to give it a shot and after playing it to the point of my thumbs growing numb and being forcibly dragged away from the penis extention I like to call my computer, I came to the only logiical conclusion.....

This Game RULES

First Off, no I am not going to comment, on the sound and graphics, this game is well into a being a few decades old, and to be fair, judging its graphics and sound in the days of bump mapping/Crysis and 7.1 surrond sound, its like having yao ming play basketball against a midget, unfair. But I will comment on the gloriously difficult gameplay, and boy is it hard

This game makes ninja gaiden look easy, and this game is not for the faint of heart, in fact if you grew up on playstation era gaming, not so much as giving any game without a "easy" difficulty a try, don't bother playing this game. This game will make you cry and cry and cry some more after showing you how far you aren't in the game. Sure you may say "Pfsh Six levels is nothing, I'll be back for dinner" these are the six hardest level of your life. Enemies spawning every few minutes, stiff jumping, only two hits and your dead and you can only shoot left or right, not to mention you have to beat the game TWICE to actually beat the game. This game is soul crushing difficult and you can only wonder what the last five levels look like.

However, this game is so f'ing addictive. Is it the determination to beat this game? Possibly, is it the urge to brag to your friends "hey I can beat this game!"? Probably, but no matter what this game is addictive, and fun. Its simple and without being bland, the game constantly throws enemies at you and there is never a dull moment, and hey how can you not like a game where you run around most of the game in you skivies. The games six levels are colorful and varied (yeah I said I wouldn't comment, bite me) though your probably going to see the first level so many times its burned into your eyelids. The games only real fault is its platforming in between, the endless spear throwing you'll be doing, jumping is kind of stiff but you'll get used to it after a while. The game has a storyline but its more or less save the princess, who was kidnapped by the red gargoyle (any demons crest fans here)

In conclusion, this game is hard but fun, something I wish there was more of, but alas as gaming get more and more accessible, its going to get easier and easier and it only this games mandatory inclusion in any capcom collection release that its kept around. If you need further proof of how awesome this game is Its Adam Sessler of X-Plays favorite game, the only person on G4, the only person on G4, worth listening to (!@#$ AOTS). Check it out but beware, this game is tougher then some nails.

Ah yes...This game was insanely hard.

And the Maximo games were awesome, I didn't know that Maximo was the "sequel" to this series, till the music came in and recognized it from Ghost n' Goblins.

I always figured that it was a sequal to ghosts and goblins in the sense the bioshock is a sequal to system shock.

Well both games are set in the same universe.

If you fastforward to the credits the music is the same. Its kinda like...the tribute sequel.

so by process of elimination, the maximo games are the equivilent of the megaman x series
