That robot from Big O. Actually I think that that was the name of the robot. I don't know why though. I think its because he double punches other robots in the face and destroys their head. Plus he has lasers and I enjoyed the show.

I second the nomination for Big O. ACTION!!!
The overall anime was amazing, with an enjoyable story, but the music and mech battles were what made it shine. They all had a feel of "realism", specifically the weapon systems per the majority of the mechs.

THe gundam he's thinking of is Shenlong, piloted by WuFei in Gundam Wing. It's got another name (that's official) but I don't remember it.
