I was at a Bob Dylan gig in Glasgow last night with a mate(DannyBoy451, of these very forums) and it was a really great show.

There was a great atmosphere, and it was a very impressive performance - Maggie's farm, Like A Rolling Stone and Working Man's Blues #2 were particularly good.

He played for a bit over two hours, and came on for an encore.

Overall it was a great show, and everybody had fun.

But anyway, let's all share our various live music experiences.

Your Demise + The King Blues + Enter Shikari = Massive mosh pit, screaming and glow sticks. It was awesome.

It started at 7 pm, I left with my friends at about midnight and it was still in full swing. We had to leave or we would've missed the bus home.

A few years ago, I saw The Mars Volta for the first time in Manchester, I think
They blew my mind
"THIS IS HOW MUCH SHOULD BE PLAYED!" I hollered at my associate in the audience with me
He couldn't hear me, but I think he agreed

Barenaked Ladies are also surprisingly good live
Well, were, I don't know now, since they lost Steve Page

I went to a Games Live concert. Great show, I loved it. I was able to meet the producers after the show.

I was forced to go to a Maroon 5 concert by a significant other... I don't like to talk about it.
You need one of these:
Especially considering how terrible Maroon 5 is. You must have the constitution of a god to go to one of their concerts without killing yourself.

Oh, right, on topic: Ozzfest '03. Was actually much more tame than I'd hoped it would be.

Went to The Living End on friday is brisbane, got knocked in the back, got a headache and left.

My best live experiences have all been playing, rather then watching.

Dead Kennedys
Flogging Molly
Meshuggah
The Communicators
Dropkick Murphys

Nothing that great, but no great bands ever play my city.

I've always wanted to see Enter Shikari live... I'm jealous.

On topic;
I've been to see Iron Maiden, who know how to put on one hell of a stage show. Too bad I was on the balcony and couldn't get closer to the stage.
It was different when I saw Bring Me The Horizon and Mindless Self Indulgence. It was a smaller venue, so I go closer to the bands. The mosh pit was just insane.

My favorite gig so far is either Reel Big Fish or The Rolling Stones. RBF because of their incredible performance, and they sounded better than they did on record, (which to me is fantastic, I hate bands that sound good on record but shite in the flesh..) And the Stones for simply being the kings of music.

Planning to see The Mars Volta soon, and Blink when they come to the UK.

If you ever get the chance, take it. The atmosphere is awesome.

Danny if your saying that living In Glasgow I may need to kill you... Edinburgh is a pain in the arse for gigs, we don't have the good medium venues that some of my favourite bands would need, and there doesn't seem to be any very active gig goers - tis wierd. Anyway, gig experiences -
Those I have made it to have almost all been brilliant so I'll list a few great one's -
Dirty Pretty Things - the actually talented Carl Baret from the libertines, unlike his junky friend, they came on 45 minutes late, but absolutely rocked the whole place, I think at least 600 people all going mental and charging towards the stage, my first gig and still the one with the most manic and energetic atmosphere.
Razorlight supported by the editors - don't care what people say, Razorlight are, or at least were before their 3rd album bloody good, hate Jonny Borrell with a passion, but Golden Touch, Somewhere else and Stumble and Fall played to a massive stadium pitch full of fans who knew all of the words, its really something to have thousands of people singing along perfectly word to word to Golden Touch!

I've been to a fair few others but those 2 were the standouts, only other bands I would really want to see at the moment are Gogol Bordello, K'naan, and Great Big Sea, look them up on youtube, as they are a great selection of Gypsy Punk, Somalian meaningful rap, and a Newfoundland Folk Rock band ^^

Oh, and hopefully in the future I'll be able to add Leeds Festival this summer to the list of awesome gigs :p

You have no idea, there were actually seats I guess they knew that no one would want to actually dance. they didn't even get an encore if I remember correctly.
Ozzfests are always good but they've started to make them less... "adventurous".

No, I don't live in Glasgow, but I got the impression while I was there that there's a big indy scene.

Unfortunatly I fucking hate indy music.
