Your Demise + The King Blues + Enter Shikari = Massive mosh pit, screaming and glow sticks. It was awesome.
I've always wanted to see Enter Shikari live... I'm jealous.

On topic;
I've been to see Iron Maiden, who know how to put on one hell of a stage show. Too bad I was on the balcony and couldn't get closer to the stage.
It was different when I saw Bring Me The Horizon and Mindless Self Indulgence. It was a smaller venue, so I go closer to the bands. The mosh pit was just insane.
If you ever get the chance, take it. The atmosphere is awesome.
I've heard they're really good live. A friend of mine saw them and again, I was jealous.
Do you know if they're on tour?

I spend the majority of my social time in various mosh pits, so this is hard.

But seeing Shihad live, and watching a band that's been togethere for 20 years, and appreciating what that means in the way of skill and awesome, and then stomping out to 'my mind's sedate'.

The Flogging Molly moshpit was amazing. I am mostly in the pit with teenage emo/scene girls. They are built like matchsticks, and I worry that they will get stomped down. All of Flogging Molly's fans were men over 6ft and built like giant slabs of meat. It was awesome. And all of them were gentlemen, not in the pit to cop a grope, and we slam danced to our hearts content to 'Black Friday Rule'.

All three times I've seen Amanda Palmer I've felt something change inside of me, the way I think and feel. She is an astonishing artist.

And there's the local band I follow around, The Galvatrons, with two of the members being dudes I went to school with. That's lots of fun because they are solid gold live, and it's nice to talk to band dudes who aren't douches.

That being said, I haven't met any musician who has been a douche yet, except for the lead singer of Gryoscope who was a creepy creepy sleeze.

I have never been to a live musical performance ever.

That being said, you got to see Bob Dylan, and I'm jealous as hell.

I was at a Bob Dylan gig in Glasgow last night with a mate(DannyBoy451, of these very forums) and it was a really great show.

There was a great atmosphere, and it was a very impressive performance - Maggie's farm, Like A Rolling Stone and Working Man's Blues #2 were particularly good.

He played for a bit over two hours, and came on for an encore.

Overall it was a great show, and everybody had fun.

But anyway, let's all share our various live music experiences.
Now I'm jealous. Dylan's one of my main heroes in music, and I've yet to see him live. Props to you for witnessing a real legend.

By far one of the best big concerts I've seen was the Rolling Stones a few years back. Yeah, Kieth Richards looked like a mutated iguana and his voice was little shot, but Mick and the boys could still rock out. And listening to classics like Gimme Shelter, Satisfaction, and Sympathy for the Devil live...whoa. Just whoa.

I've also seen some really great smaller bands on account of doing some music reviews on the side. Probably the best smaller-scale shows I've seen have been What Made Milwaukee Famous and Antony & the Johnsons. But one of the more interesting was Bright Eyes. Conor Oberst actually stopped in the middle of the song to yell at a girl singing along (and getting the lyrics wrong, I should note). That was...odd. You would think he wouldn't care so much. But alas, he's a great songwriter. That his personality is a little off may just be conducive to great writing.

I saw Rush at the Clark County Amphitheater. It was soo cool. They played all the great old songs, a few good new ones.

A couple weeks I saw the Police there. It was a combination of sadness (it sucked) and anger (it cost quite a bit).

Dropkick Murphys. No greater show in the land.
Every time they come to my town, my body decides to strike me down with the plague, or my wallet decides to be as empty as possible.

I've missed out three times now, and I am deeply annoyed with the universe. I really want to see them.

I've seen Coheed and Cambria. Nothing beats IKSSE:3, Welcome Home, Everything Evil (with a surprise breakout into The Friggin' TROOPER halfway through) and The Final Cut live.

Also, Lynyrd Skynyrd played a show on campus, and I HAD to go, if only for Free Bird.

Ha, the last show I went to, I had to drive seven hours to get there. I left with a gash across my scalp and a bruise across my sternum from the front railings as well as a few other minor bruises and lacerations. Drove the seven hours back to get back thirty minutes before an Army Physical Fitness Test. Yet still I passed with flying colors.

No bands I like ever come to my town.
With the exception of The Who.
But I didn't get to see them.

Last friday my band had a gig. We got free food and booze, and we had a backstage area with our own bathroom and free candy. Then we played for half an hour, after which people actually asked the merch guys whether they could buy our CD (we don't have one yet). The rest of the night was spent drinking copiously, congratulating eachother on how much we rule, and rocking out to some of the finest folk metal in the Netherlands.

It must have been incredible seeing that song live.
Sure was, I had a great time that night. Interesting fact: the crowd was almost a 50/50 split between hillbillies and rednecks.

It's between Rage Against The Machine at Reading last year, though their political rant failed:
"BUSH SHOULD BE TRIES FOR WAR CRIMES"
(crowd)"YEEAAAH!"
"SO SHOULD TONY BLAIR!"
(crowd)"YYYYEEAAAHHH!"
"YOU SHOULD ALL QUIT YOUR JOBS AND RIOT ON THE STREETS!"
(crowd)"YYYeea.... urm... no thanks."

and Metallica... or Machine Head.

Bob Dylan, damn you! But yes, a gig that sticks out in recent memory was last year at Leeds Fest. I was volunteering there and I got put onto the Lock Up Stage disabled platform, a perfect view to enjoy an incredible Flogging Molly performance. My god they were awesome, so much energy, mid-way through we had a collective "Fuck You!" to George Bush, with everyone sticking a middle finger in the air! Memorable.

I've been to various (the first two links may include offensive content):

Jedi Mind tricks [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ktnZbu0FJQ]. Man that was good. The energy and atmosphere were incredible to witness. You really saw Vinnie P, Jus Allah and Planetary feeding of the crowd, and giving it all to make it worth wile. A renewed mosh pit at every song was a bit much for me, but still amusing to witness.

Army of the Pharaohs [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIZYiIZFxZw]. Very nice too. They had a real various ensemble, and the flow kept on going strong. Reef the Lost Cauze, Planetery & Warchild, Sabac Red, Jus Allah, and even a surprise appearance of Jeru the Damaja. Not the worst names you can imagine.

St Matthew Passion [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_LLFfFXaUA&feature=related]. Touching.. Oh so touching. A bit different than the above two in genre and atmosphere, but wonderful regardless. Seeing, and feeling that performed before your eyes is a completely different experience than listening it on mp3.

The Magic Flute [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEnH_niAKWQ]. The first real opera performance I witnessed. My German isn't really amazing so I didn't understand everything, fortunately I read about the story before. The singing was absolutely beautiful though, and the music too of course. Even the theatricals on stage were quite entertaining to watch.
