While I never had a gaming GF, I am sure I side with most guys thinking it would be fucking awesome to have one.
Its not as good as you think it would be :(
How so?
Well It may have just been the girl I dated but it just got really anoying all she wanted to do was game together and then she turned out to be a complete *****...I personaly would rather have a GF that would like to go out or watch a movie or something. My friend also had a gaming GF which ended badly because she would get so mad if he beat her in games and such...kinda like she expected him to let her win...I dont know depends on the person I guess.
You have my sympathy. It seems like it might just be the person >.>
Nonetheless, I probably would be shitty at getting someone into gaming, seeing as how elitist I am.

I don't know if I should call my girl a gamer.... All I've known her to play was Mario Party and Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life for the gamecube.

Gamer girlfriends are awesome =/
At least I am.
Boys just get pissy when their gamer girlfriends end up being better than them, admittedly this is rarely the case but it does happen! And when it does, hilarity ensues.

Bare minimum for me is someone who doesn't have a problem with gaming. It'd be nice to meet a girl who was a gamer as well, beyond casual games, but haven't met one like that yet.

Why is it so important to have a partner that shares your gaming hobbies? I mean it is just a hobby, it's not a way of life....or ist it? :)
I love to share some of my hobbies with my partner, but some hobbies i want to pursue alone. You know what i mean? :)

I think most girls dont have a problem with gaming boyfriends....it's more a problem how important gaming is to the guy. Keep it cool and moderate. There are alot of things to do besides gaming. :)

Well, like anything that's important to you, it's nice you can share it with the person you love. It's also important that it doesn't become a point of friction between the two.

Is it NECESSARY? No. Nice? Yeah.

my girlfriend plays wii if that counts.
no it doesnt, the wii is never to be considered to be a console. as that is a lie
But Wii Fit is really cool. :)

No really, i think the Wii has its moments. It may not be the most advanced console out there, but hey visuals are not everything.

I'm playing FF VII on my PS3....and i have more fun than with most recent games.

yes the wii has its moments, like a retarded monkey does, the other consoles however do not need such moments

What a cruel thing to say. :)
To each its own. I think the wii has proven itself on the gaming market. Everything else is, as it should be, personal opinion.

My wife loves games and is better than me at most of them. No other girlfriend I've had was around long enough for the gaming issue to come up.

Let's say hypothetically that my wife wasn't into games... well, I'd probably have a lot less games. Probably wouldn't have a PS3 (getting one to import Silent Hill: Homecoming was her idea after the game was refused classification in Australia). We'd probably still use our Wii since it's the non-gamer's game console.

Never met a girl that into gaming. I'm not really massive on games, it's just that they are fun ways of making me stop chewing furniture out of boredom in my rather sad, sad life.

But yeah, my ex wasn't really into games. She kind of liked Spyro games, but that was when they were on the Playstation original.

My gf entirely accepts my love of videogames, although that may be because she has no idea how big my passion for gaming actually is lol. She knows my game library is stupidly big and has never questioned it cos I have so many other interests which she actually enjoys talking about.
I've tried to get her to play a few games in the past like GOW2, but to no real avail. She does love watching me play scary games like Resi 4 and Dead Space though which is kinda cool lol. Oh, and she loved Guitar Hero 3, before I sold it. And she enjoyed my Wii, before I sold that too lol. So, typical casual gamer.
She HATES the small Zelda tattoo I have on my back though. She and I both share a passion for tattoos and she thinks that ones an abomination lol

i'd rather have a gaming gf than one that complains you're playing a stupid video game
What's worse is this attitude. Games are stupid, but television is a worthwhile daily passtime. Nevermind that when you game you are actually engaged with something, and when you're watching television you're just a passive vegetable.
I found a good compromise for that stop watching tv, dont own a tv havent watched any in a good three years and dont miss it, so any future girlfriend that cant adjust to that lifestyle can go elsewhere.
I have a TV card in my computer, but it stopped working a while back...vista. So this is basically how I live too. And yeh...I honestly don't miss it.

yeah same well i have a tv in my flat that has a signal and everything its just the receptions so bad i just cant be bothered.

not knowing whats going on in the worlds a good thing too im not all scared about this "Swine Flu" nonsense that i just heard about on friday

mind you ive heard top gears on so i might have to start watching that now but thats it haha

anyways yeah my most recent GF split up with me because i didnt have any intrest in FF infact i jokingly made fun of cloud not realising how serious her crush on that so called "guy" was ...so yeah im going to stick with the non gaming types they seem to be able to take a joke i mean ther more than happy if you take the mick out of say justin 'the twatface' timberlake.... mind you im more than happy to be proven wrong haha
