Here's a question. I know a lot of guys know how to shoot. I know plenty of girls that can shoot. Now, do you know any girls that can shoot? I mean shoot and actually hit something, not just squeeze the trigger until the gun goes click.

I was just talking to my gf about going shooting with me sometime and I was wondering about it. Do any of your female friends, family or maybe gf know how to shoot?

EDIT: The "shoot and hit something" comment was more to see if these women that know how to shoot have actually practiced. I know plenty of women that are actually really good shooters.

Unfortunately I don't have too many ladyfriends who know how to shoot.

My mother is a hunter though, as well as my step-father, and they can both shoot and hit the target just like me. Although im more familiar with pistol shooting than the both of them.

That said, I think pistol shooting is by far a lot harder than using a rifle.

I'm not a fan of pistols personally, but I can see where they'd have their appeal. I just preffer the range of a rifle over that of a pistol. Ease of use as well.

Oh yes, a rifle is easy to use. In fact sometimes I think it's a bit "too" easy. But the last time I shot it might have been because I was accustomed to the difficulty of pistol shooting.

I mean you brace the rifle against your body so much more, when a pistol is basically just a thing you hold in your hand (the club where I shoot at have you learn one-handed shooting primarily so I haven't tried using two hands yet) and where the accuracy is affected by the slightest tremble and jerking motion.

That said, im pretty much an omnivore when it comes to guns. I want to try shooting everything from a puny derringer to the main weapon of a battletank. If you can aim it and it makes a loud noise and cause a degree of destruction of what you point it at then I probably want to try it out and master it. :p

My grandma was a hunter. I ex was a gun-nut and worked at a skeet range for a while. My current mate is pretty good with a .22, but afraid to use the bigger guns. I took one of my friends out to shoot her pistol once, and she was pretty good. My mom also used to hunt.

Despite all these guns, and gun-people, I'm a hippy--go figure.

I only know one person who has ever shot a gun. I guess that's what I get for growing up in a rich, suburban area.

I'm in the Canadian Forces and there is really no difference in shooting. I rifle can be shot accurately by a 8 year old in the prone position. However, some of the smaller females have had issues with general weapon control, loading, and cocking of the weapon system. Though many of these issues stem from one large.... lllarge rotten apple.(So many horror stories)

I don't think knowing how to shoot something is a natural trait specific to any gender.

I know plenty of guys who go shooting who can't actually shoot. Just because firearms tend to be a male dominated passtime does not mean women are any less capable with them. Anyone can be taught how to shoot, you just need to be taught properly.

I don't know any women who shoot but I will say that test have shown women to be better marksmen than men.

One of the top snipers in WWII was a Russian woman...the name escapes me at the moment. Anyway, she had like...330 or so kills to her name. The guy above her only had like 10 or so more kills, he was also Russian I believe. I don't know the other sniper's records for WWII though.

Well, my mom's getting a concealed-carry permit. Other than that, I've never really bothered to ask.

I know a girl who's a regional champ. She doesnt have the drive to go any farther, but she's good enough for nationals. Her focus though is more archery, but she's good with old guns like Winchesters. She uses mine alot to practice, and I have an 1889 1884 Winchester.

My mom frickin TAUGHT me how to shoot and can still put a bullet in a quarter with a rifle at 200m. Used to be able to do it with a dime, but she's getting kind of old, y'know? Myopia and all that stuff.

I can't even remember last time I shot a gun. Airsoft/BB guns aside.

No one in my family I know of (immediate and close relatives) have shot a gun at all. As far as I know. And off the top of my head I can't think of many close female friends who have either.
