Alright I have a mustache that looks almost identcal to Ezios on brotherhood except the part that goes down the middle of his chin. Im 17 and my mom says this is the most nastyist thing she has ever seen in her life and tells me no girl would ever like it.

What are your feelings on mustaches?

I had a similar conversation with my mother when I was your age. Unfortunately, she thought she was talking to my twin brother.

It was the first - and last - time I experimented with black lipstick.

I am envious. My ethnic group tends to not be hairy, and my family is also on the not hairy side, which means that at 22, I have never been able to grow facial hair for crap. At 22, I have been mistaken for 16 more times than I care to count, when I'd much rather be able to grow an excellent 'stache and be taken seriously like a MAN.

I do not possess the manly toughness to grow a mustache but since you can grow one, I implore you "Grow it".

I'd be more put off by, "My mummy doesn't like it" than any moustache.

That said, it looks crap on Ezio.

I don't know who you're comparing yours to, but I think mustaches should be reserved for the Super Mario Bros. and that's about it.

I personally have always been against lone mustaches. However goatees, full beards, mutton chops, etc all look fine to me.

Well, everyone has their own feelings about what is or is not attractive. I'm a guy, but I've never grown a mustache, mostly because I have always found them somewhere between ridiculous and hideous.

Perhaps there's some woman somewhere who likes mustaches, but for the most part, I don't see a lot of women going for guys with mustaches. I guess the one exception would be that if you're the philosophy type you can get away with the mustache/beard combo. But a mustache on its own, well, I can't say I'd suggest it if you want to attract members of the opposite gender, but who's to say I'm right?

Don't let your mother dictate your style. She isn't the one you are trying to impress!

Keep it and wear it proud. Hell, look at Burt Reynolds, Charles Bronson, John Goodman (via The Big Lebowski), or Francis and Bill from Left 4 Dead.

All badasses with badass facial hair. If it'll come in without looking patchy, grow it and wear it pround my comrade-in-facial-hair. The women that don't like face fuzz are normally unable to withstand it's sheer power.

I for one agree with your mother...
Mustaches on 17 year old boys are... well... ergh, lets just say they make you look like you're trying to hard (unless you can grow a really AWESOME mustache, but I've never seen anyone at the age of 17 able to do that) it will just end up looking like this sweat, odd thing :|

I've seen one dude who was 18 had a full beard like 3 inches long. Awesome beard.
I've been sporting a goatee since I was 17 and grew my mustache about a year and a half latter. Chicks dig it.
Most younger men with just a mustache well does not look good alone. Toss in a goatee under it though making it a full goatee and it looks good on almost anyone.
Wear your face fuzz it in any fashion you want though. Only you have power over your own facial hair.

Hate 'em, find them totally unattractive on 99% of guys and the idea of kissing a guy who has one I just find icky. Then again you're not trying to get me to kiss you, so what does my opinion matter? If you've got a moustache and you're dead set on keeping it, then the girls you meet will be the ones who find it attractive. When it comes to subjective fashion/appearance things like that, I reckon you should just do what makes you happy.

Also, there was a thread up here last week(?) about this with a poll as well:
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.258431-Poll-Your-opinion-on-facial-hair
Based on the above data, if you're growing a 'stache purely for the purpose of seducing lady Escapists, you need a different strategy.

I've had a beard (Goatee) since I was 15. Right now I haven't shaved in 4 days and my mustache is annoying as hell. I am in favor of beards, but the stache ain't helping your cause.

I don't have a mustache but I have a goatee and everyone keeps telling me to shave it off. At least all the girls do. I've grown attached to it now and it ain't coming off!
