Girly games-PS3

After seeing the title of the thread "manly games" it got me thinking, how come there are barely any girly ps3 games!? Apart from maybe little big planet, seriously i cant think of any! I know the majority of people who play ps3 are males, however i know a vast amount of girls play too. Shooting, killing, violence and racing games are very fun, but sometimes we need a break.. also i need some ideas for xmas presents, so girlyish games anyone?

I remember hearing about some game called Flower a while back which sounded right up your street for a "taking a break" kind of game.

But I don't own a PS3, so I wouldn't know.

i'm going to say what needs to be said. little Big Planet is neither manly nor girly. it just is.

O.T the best i've heard of are games like flower. nice and relaxing.

i dunno, but if youre looking for games that are a break from killing and racing, then maybe look into fl0w and flower, and maybe some of the pixeljunk games (more specifically Eden)

Valkyria Chronicles wouldn't fit the category of "girly". It's more of a game made for those looking for something different other than Resistance and MGS4.

Valkyria Chronicles wouldn't fit the category of "girly". It's more of a game made for those looking for something different other than Resistance and MGS4.

I'd go with Little Big Planet.

When people say "Girly" games I think of Barbie. When people say "Manly" games I think of porn Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball.

Everything else is in the middleground.

Makes me chuckle to see platforms like DSi trying to flog games about ponies and fashion as that is all that women are interested in (played on a pink DS no less!) Reckon a lot of girly gamers will be disappointed by the lack of choice of new titles once their pony has died from not being pretty enough (That said, as an avowed cynical bastard I don't take DS that seriously as a gaming platform...shovelware and minigames on the DS? Really? Surely not, that is just madness..)

The World Ends With You justifies the DS as a gaming platform in my eyes.

Yes, I love it that much. It could really do with less shovelware though. Just looking at some of the names in the below 50% section on Metacritic makes me shudder ;<

My girl who happens to be a friend loves that game and is getting a ps3 just for that game. proof enough that it is a 'girly game'.

It doesn't matter what the aesthetic is, it just matters whether the game is good or not. There are plenty of games available that aren't dark, shit-brown, and filled with gore and profanity; it just so happens that many good games do have those features.

On the PS3 I know of the Uncharted series, the Ratchet & Clank series, the Jak series (although I don't think that there are any PS3 Jak games, but there are PS2 games you can play backwards-compatibly), Civilization: Revolution, and a lot of downloadable games.

It just panned out that "girly" games are always bad, because they are focusing more on a (largely) alien demographic more than the gameplay. It's just the way the world is, get used to it.
