Today, the 25[sup]th[/sup] November, is Thanksgiving in the United States.Wikipedia said:Thanksgiving or Thanksgiving Day, celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November, has been an annual tradition in the United States since 1863, when during the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national day of thanksgiving to be celebrated on Thursday, November 26.
As an Anglo-American I have only celebrated it once a couple of years ago but since The Simpsons is (among other things) a reasonably good guide to American culture I have a fairly rough idea as to what goes on (traffic jams, arguments with extended family, loads of food, the parades, 'football' and the ads between said 'football').
But what I'm wondering is this:
What are you thankful for?
Also if you have had any memorable Thanksgivings past or present feel free to share!
Oh, and happy Thanksgiving ^^
