I just got one little question. What actual benefit it is for me to have a 3D tv? I mean, i hardly ever watch xplosion heavy action flicks. Will it make crappy movies better? Will it improve the quality of the content? Will news feeds in 3D be somewhat less depressing? I highly doubt it, so sorry, im not going to change to it unless they will stop producing TVs without 3D option.

3D is not the way of the future. Fully integrated holograohic systems with force feedback and touch sensitivity are the way of the future.

Developers of such projects take note. Using Star Trek for inspiration provokes you to really think about how to advance technology, using the Viewmaster is trying to rekindle the nineties, and there's a reason we let the nineties' technology die.

The problem with 3D Tvs was that you had to buy glasses for everyone, and they were expensive. Now with this I dont see the problem, it will be a great addition for gaming and movies.

Didn't Spielberg promise us this technology like five years ago?

I definitely think this will go along way to making 3D feel less gimmicky, but the whole point of 3D, after the spectacle has worn off, is supposed to be greater immersion. And 64 or not if shifting in my seat makes everything jump from 3D to 2D then back to 3D it's going to toss me right out of the experience every time.
Nah, 2015. We're supposed to have:

-portable fusion technology

-holograms

-Cubs win the world series(hahaha)

-hoverboards

-Japanese overlords

-no black presidents

-fucking flying fucking cars

Any one saying that glasses free 3D is pointless is an idiot. It may not be the case now, but if done right looking at your TV could become no different than looking out of your window. Personally I think that's fucking awesome.

Ok, no glasses needed anymore... Sounds cool if it works. But still I think 3D isn't going to hit the big success that will demand everyone to buy a new expensive television to watch the news....

Why do they need to keep pushing this...I understands its a needed progression, but its going to be expensive anyway, and as for people like we who can perceive...

I think we're heading towards another VHS/Betamax or DVD-HD/Blu-Ray format scuffle. I very much doubt that different vendors' products will work on different types of 3D.

And just to add to the amusement, the scuffle is probably going to be over a piece of the market smaller than the current Blu-Ray market segment.

Just like HD tvs. And look what happened.
HD tvs weren't gimmicks, they made the picture more detailed and advanced the technology. I'm not saying this doesn't advance the technology, but it advances it in a way that just causes eye strain and makes things cost twice has much. The price may go down, but the uselessness of the technology won't.

Why do you hate 3D so much?

It's just a part of the future.
Because it's part of the future I hate. The future full of materialistic twats that destroyed the environment and lost all sense of real life socialising because they were too busy with their Facebook and 3D farmville.
Fair 'nuff. Let's hope 3D Farmville never happens..

Well I will accept 3D (won't buy it oh hell no) because it is a step until there is holograms Mass Effect style (making porn movies and video games so much better), but it does surprise me how far human beings have come in these past 10 or so years, with technology, I remember when mobile phones that could play snake were amazing now we have touchscreens with 1000s of apps and now we're getting glasses-free 3D.

Can't wait to see the rule of our robot overlords by 2020

It sounds interesting, I hate wearing 3D glasses because they hurt my face, but 3D with out the glasses could be good.
