Recently, it has come to mind how the time between a glitch being found and a glitch being dealt with varies hugely between developers.
Infinity Ward's notorious infinite carepackage glitch is a prime example. It has been around for weeks now, and nothing has been done against it. No-one has been punished at all for its' ridiculous abuse.
Here is another example. Blizzard found out someone had used an exploit to get the first 25-man kill on The Lich King. Everyone involved got banned for three days.
If the Carepackage glitch had happened on a Blizzard or, say, a Valve game, it would have been fixed within two days. Here, Infinity Ward (on the best-selling game -ever?- of 2009, and on their presumably ridiculous salaries) have done jack shit after weeks of a gamebreaking glitch existing.
