i've started this thread to see what glitches you guys have found in games and what you think of them and the people that use them. Personaly I hate people that exploit glitches although I haven't found many that really give someone an unfair advantage. One exception to this is a glitch I recently found people using in the COD:world at war beta where someone can get under the map where they cannot be seen or shot, and shoot up at everyone.what do you think of these people?

What about missingno in Pokemon? That was like my favorite glitch of all time and I didn't feel like I was cheating. I just thought who ever figured it out was really, really clever. Does that make me an evil glitch exploiter? I think exploiting some glitches is less wrong than others.

Oh... I thought this was going to be a glitches that have happened to you discussion...

On thread: The same thing that happened to WaW beta happened in TF2 a while ago. Very annoying. I don't like glitches because it isn't the other player's fault that it's there so it shouldn't be used against them. If I were playing a developer of the game I would use said glitch to
A) Prove a point to them that it exists
B) Get them back for every time I've been killed due to a buggy level

Glitches can be a good source of innocent fun too.

The early days of WoW (and before there were PvP Arenas or Battlegrounds where this could be exploited) had all kinds of terrain glitches that made exploring the nooks and crannies occasionally quite surprising. It was addictive in some ways. I always enjoyed spotting an interesting off-limits set piece area during a fly-over and seeing if I could find a way to get there.

I have to believe that Blizzard left a few of these in as "easter eggs" for the adventurous to find. The airfield behind Ironforge, for example, had all kinds of planes and buildings and scripted fights even during the beta testing period. That strikes me as a fair bit of hand-made content to leave in the game when people wouldn't (in theory) ever be able to see it up close. There was even a little sign at the top of the mountain nearby.

Other glitches can actually expand the gameplay or life of a game. MarioKart 64 for example had a famous glitch in the Wario track where you could skip large portions of it -- but which also took some solid skill and timing to pull off. Some of the best and most intense races I had against other people was where we'd both be using the exploit and knew that one screw-up would loose the race.

I've found one glitch in a UT2K4 server in a map remake of De_Dust, you could walk in the air if you had some skill with your Translocator.

the only glitches I utilize are in Mass Effect, lol..

I use the infinite Paragon/Renegade glitches pretty extensively, but I've played it through without using them a few times, getting both achievements without glitching, but because it has lasting gameplay ramifications, I can't finish a game without full Paragon/Renegade.

I think using a glitch in a competitive multiplayer game is low though.

Being a priest in the early days of World of Warcraft was fun, before they fixed fearing people off of cliffs.
Mind controlling people still works :)

CoD4 has tons of glitches. theres one where you can get on top of buildings you aren't supposed to, you can get out of a good portion of the maps, my favorites are the ones where you can go from ground floor on a building to the second floor without ever entering the building.
oh and the entire mercs 2 game was a glitch. I'm convinced they tried to make something else and that just popped up and they decided to sell that instead. there were so many glitches in that game, to many to count.

On topic I tend to exploit glitches all the time, if not at someone elses expense.

Like the infinite Gold Skulltulas in Ocarina of Time.

Off Topic: Whats with that Noble badge thing.

Yes, it still does, but trust me when I say that it is one thing to MC someone off a cliff, but another thing completely to run onto a zeppelin full of horde and fear them all off.
Shamans with there new 51 elemental talent can do that. Kicks people 20yards away from you.

I like the flipping car glitch in Gears...it's like a carnival ride, without the smell of lost hope and burnt corndogs...

Using glitches in single player is the same as typing in a cheat... which I think is a total waste of a game, kinda kills the challenge of the game. Using glitches in multiplayer is very very very low however. Gaining an unfair advantage in a game is like saying, I'm a cheating noob.

If it's a glitch that anyone can use, I don't see the problem.
It's a glitch, something the designers overlooked, learn to exploit it and you can cancel out anyone who thinks they're going to use it to gain an unfair advantage.
Complaining about this kind of thing has always struck me as a lot like complaining that you don't know where the sniper Rifle is when the other guy does.
