I searched for Everquest Gameplay, and that was the one of the first I found that actually involved gameplay.
So you're slagging off Everquest, one of my favoured games, without having really played it?

See my bind here? If you want to big up PS, you can do it without laying into me.
Not if you're taking it down. And your bind is my bind, as you're slagging off PS without ever playing it. My statement still stands and is correct, which is that EQ combat and PS combat are entirely different, and I at least have a gameplay video as back up. Had you checked any sort of gameplay video of Planetside, you would never had made such a comment in the first place.

To anyone reading: Planetside is nothing like EQ, and if you are a shooter fan who enjoys large battles go check it out.

It's non-subscription

That is my one and only turn-off for nearly every interesting MMO. (Hell, I'd even give EVE a shot if it were free (I know there's a trial, I can't be bothered))
Erm, you can buy PLEX (game cards) with ISK (in game currency) so you can play EVE for free if your willing to work for it.

Amazingly enough not a single reference to Borderlands and how much the games' core mechanics are similar. The main difference between them becomes the additives to the FPS style which is shoot and loot (Borderlands) versus MMO (Global Agenda).

As Borderlands has already done massively well from a moderate expectation, Global Agenda should really consider trying to use that as a catalyst for why their game will work well over other niche games like EVE. Who would want to compare themselves to EVE when they are touting a low barrier to entry?

Of all the games listed so far, only PlanetSide comes remotely close to being able to compare (at least from what we've seen so far) to Global Agenda. And PlanetSide was good.. for it's time. Now it's time to move on to hopefully a development group that will pay attention to it's playerbase.

Borderlands could have been done better. The design was too focused around consoles. Not to mention how easy it was to cheat.. brings us back to the days of Diablo 1.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Hellgate: London. That game had potential.. but they just didn't get the funding.. They also tried to do a free to play and paid model.. and look where that put them.

Hopefully Hi-Rez has good strategic planning in terms of their overall business. Yes, there will be some competition from APB and Huxley.. but anything with Jetpacks is a plus in my book.

Mixing both payed and unpayed together is actually a brilliant strategy. It will suck in the F2P players as well as the P2P players who have been starved for a good MMOFPS, which is a department that has been severely lacking since Planetside's weapons were so severely imbalanced.

Although, I do have to hope that they do keep a nice amount of interesting stuff for the open-world, paid, environment, while still keeping the fps elements interesting enough to hold people's attentions... If they can hold the perfect balance between the two, then this game will go on for years... Or at least I hope so :)

Oh and,Massively Multiplayer Online First Person Shooter is easy to please those who like both, since most shooters are online multiplayers, though making it massive without the lag is a tricky part... however alot of MMO players like the RPG aspects of the game, rather than just the MMO aspects, I look forward to seeing how the game develops the RPG aspects of it with the paid and unpaid models, that will be the real answer as to whether it can please everyone ;)

yeah it would be nice to offer some kind of free trial <.< something this new and radical is gonna have a hard time convincing either group to shell out the money to test an experiment.
Or you could just watch the game play videos!

lol from the response you gave me (b4 you deleted the noval), perhaps you would like to tell me about it since your were "obviously" going to buy it.

And sorry watching Gameplay video doesn't work for me. Many of them will only show you stuff that looks exciting and cool, but when u pick it up and play it it totally falls apart. case and point Age of Conan, all the poor suckers who got hooked on the hype machine and 3 months later the game is a wasteland :p So looks can be deceiving is my point

Open beta or free trial is best, unless of course they think they have to hook you purely on promises.

I deleted the novel because it was a novel :p I have a bad habit of stretching my thoughts out way too wide and said eff it, didn't wanna make people read another one of my essays :p

But no, I don't get hooked on "cool looking stuff" that easily. Age of Conan, Warhammer, Aion, I've yet to try any of them (edit for mistake: except AoC which was purely out of sheer boredom, at the time I wanted ANYTHING but WoW to play, did not last long) because of the gameplay videos not being exciting and pulling me in at all. You can watch the game and know how it'll be played (because I mean other than touching the mouse/keyboard yourself you're seeing the same as you would actually playing the game...).

I make my judgment of games and whether or not I'll like them based upon the game play videos because it's as close as you'll get without a beta invite or trial and if you don't know your own personal taste by now I don't know what to say to that.
