so a week ago i ordered fallout new vegas from walwart.com and it stressed that it would arrive on time
turns out there was a mistake at fedex and not only did i get it a day early but ten dollars were deducted from the price

You just won at life. Wow. Awesome. I love when stuff like that happens.

I suppose there are the little victories in life, like a teacher making a mistake on a test so everyone gets that question right, or not noticing a spelling error you made or something, even though I'm usually honest about owning up to that.

I think the best mistake that ever worked in my favour was when, one night when my parents were away and I was feeling really tired and unwell, I decided to order a pizza. I was so spaced out that I totally overpaid the guy, and gave him like a hundred dollars for twenty dollars worth of food. He mustn't have noticed right away.

Anyway, from then on, ever since we've ordered pizza from that place, and every single time we get that same guy, he's 'accidentally' thrown in something extra to our order (like desserts or, sometimes, he'll give us an extra pizza from a previous customer who didn't want it, or from an order that got screwed up) for free. Great dude.

Getting the "Bank error in your favor - Collect $200" card in Monopoly is pretty much the only time mistakes go in my favor.

The best mistake that happened to me so far was at Popeye's one time they were out of ice and there was a really long wait for my chicken. To make up for it, they gave me twice as much chicken as I ordered, which was cool.

After three months of calling the company and complaining, they sent me a valid, hand-written check refunding the full amount, including shipping.

Thats sounds awesome! I usually will get an extra piece of chicken in my meal, but twice? That just sounds great.

And wow OP. You are one of the luckiest sonuvvabitchs around. My friend is so anxious about F:NV coming out tomorrow and you got it a day early. Wow.

Can't really say that I've had any glorious mistakes like that happen to me, but I've had some cool mistakes happen before. Like a teacher accidently checking a wrong answer as right, or getting an extra whatever when I guy something.

Although look usually seems to go against me. Case in point: when I bought ME2 (after burning through ME1, which I had also just purchased) it turns out my second disc was screwed up so I had to wait an extra week to play on the second disc. I was not happy.
