Gmod help (ongoing)

I am in dire need of 4 things:

A good link to a working wire mod
A good link to a working portal gun
a good link to a working gcombat mod

And reccomendations on any good mods/fun things to do in Gmod

Ok. One last thing.

WHen you join a multiplayer game that you need to download parts for...do those parts stay permanently on your com? or are they just temporary files?

I am hesitant to join an online game at the moment because of hard drive space.

Most of them are lua files they won't do much to your space I believe and they aren't permanent If I am correct you can also make the game not download anything.
I hope I'm right.

No way to stop it downloading except pressing cancel and not joining the server. But you were right-they're only temporary, and even while they're on my system an average server download takes 30 MB

You couldn't get GCombat to work either? If you installed it correctly you should have a new tool (under the default "tools" tab) called GCombat. But you have to use wire for most of the guns to work. :/
GCX is GCombat eXtended. Even MORE weapons!
You ever get WireMod to work?

Update: I got wiremod at last!

There is a problem with every single different version of the portal gun i download. I can walk through to portals, but they do not apear on the walls at all. It is like i am walking through the wall texture. Also, i sometimes get stuck after i have walked through one and come out the other.

This happens to every single different version i install. I have looked on the forums for each download and everyone says it works for them.

Help? If you can...

hhmmmm....my wire didn't work properly. It appears in the list when i press the browse tab, but inside the folders is a bunch of blank/duff models.

Also, Gcombat still not working.

See, i just installed that first link, and the tool appeared, but it spawned ordinary items, like washing machines.

And only like 2 weapons appeared in my weapons tab.

Maybe I'm installing it wrong? could you tell me how to install? Nothing comes with the actual download.

Okay, make sure that "SteamApps//garrysmod/garrysmod/addons/Advanced Duplicator, Wire model pack 1, wire.
If it is "SteamApps//garrysmod/garrysmod/addons/wire/advanced duplicator, wire model pack 1, wire" then you need to take those 3 folders and cut+paste them in /addons/


When you say "Gcombat isn't working" do you mean it is not showing up, or is the models not there/other problem?

my gcombat items just come up as giant error's and i dont know what i've done wrong :S
