Gnome Chompski: Left 4 Dead 2

Could use a little help on this achievement. I picked him up, no problem with that and I carried him all the way through the level, dropping him whenever there was a need for me to use one of my weapons, but always retrieving him afterwards. I made it to the end of the level, picked him up again and jumped on the chopper and...no achievement. Was a little bit pissed cos it's quite hard to be handicapped by carrying a gnome through practically an entire level on a game like this!

Have any of my fellow Escapists had this problem? Any suggestions?

I just got that achievement two hours ago.

Yeah I was just wondering if I had done it wrong or the gnome had fallen out of the helicopter or something, but to be honest I just have the horrible feeling it glitched.

We actually had 5 goes at that. First time we put the gnome down, the tank caught it and sent it under the scaffold. Then killed us as we tried to grab it out. Then Danny managed to jump on the helicopter and forget to pick it up. Then Prophet dropped it out of the helicopter whilst we were climbing on. Then Phoenix was holding it and got incapped as the last person climbed on.

the first time I tried to get this achievement I had it in the helecopter but a tank punched me and it fell out.

When I did the part on the rollercoaster. When I could see the end of the rollercoaster where the controls are to shut it off. I just threw that little fucker into the room with the controls and fought my way to them effectively.

Well, on the 360 version I got it with a friend by just going on easy and running through. He would take point with a guitar, I would follow, and the AI would clear out the zombies behind me.

Only times I had to drop the gnome and help was when the occasional tank/charger/smoker/jockey attacked. Also during Creshendo moments.

Basically just keep trying, and doing it with friends should make it easier.

It proably just glitched. Play on easy *With bots prefereblly* and just run the entire level. You don't need to play the entire campaign, just the 2nd level onward.

I got that achievement a while back and finding him after a horde was always troublesome. Especially that crescendo event on level 4. I almost lost him in the never ending wave of zombies. On the upside, it's a good spot to get the achievement for burning a clown leading 10 infected.
