This is how you make people happy.

EA, Microsoft, where are your big super-sales?
Where are your super-sales now?!

Ahem.

OT: Honestly don't know if I'll buy anything (he says, the fool), since I was struggling to get stuff on my wishlist to enter the prize draw. Still, I'll probably just buy shit if its cheap enough.

You gotta love AND HATE Steam Summer Sale. Downloading Shogun 2 (18 GB) now with... 20 kb/s... Seriously, with all the money they're getting from Steam, you'd expect them to have some bloody decent servers by now.

Oh well, at least I'll have something to play when I retire.

Update: To anyone who thought I was kidding: it has been almost an hour since I began the download and I'm at 150 mb downloaded with 208 kb/s.

$2.50 for Knights of the Old Republic? Looks like I no longer have an excuse for not having played it.

I'm sure my bank account is going to suffer over the next week.

Where's a picture of Gabe swimming in money with a troll face shopped on his head when you need it? Every day there's discounts until the end of this event, damn it.

I hope those TF2 shades are a Miscellaneous slot item. Wouldn't mind swapping them in over the License To Maim for the Sniper and Scout.
I know you probably already know this, but they are.

And they look pretty good. Kinda like Dangeresque Too? but a lot more like aviators.

So are the Daily Activities in essence, "daily" as in only available on the day they are announced like the Steam Treasure Hunt?

I'm celebrating my 21st Birthday Tonight until about 12am and fear I will miss out on this first batch.. seeing I own and actively play every one of them. :'(
From what we can understand:

Each set of 7 activities is open for the entire sales offer. Each prize costs you 3 tickets, and spare tickets go towards a draw for you to win 10 games off your wishlist if you have 10 games on your wishlist.

We're expecting the big releases on July 4th (obviously) but 2/3 tickets can be earned (so far) for free.
Jump in the Water on TF2, Join the Steam Group and Link to Facebook.

Just Cause 2 for £3.50? GTA classics for £5? Now give me Civilization V for a tenner and I'll be a happy, happy man.

It's not their servers, it's your ISP. I'm on the ass end of the planet (Australia) and down here all the two major ISP's (Optus and Telstra) throttle the link speed on the local in-country steam servers. It's actually faster for me to change my location to San Jose and download - goes from 100k/s to 400-500k/s.

Although, that being said, they're probably under amazing load right now. They've had between 2 and 3 million people online at all times this weekend and you gotta know people are downloading like mad on all the cheap games.

Just bought Half Life 2 plus the two episodes and Garry's mod and that was day one.

I might by turning into a Valve fanboy, and I'm alright with that.
Shit, just checked Steam today for new deals and saw the Half-Life bundle I bought a few days ago for half the price.

Fuck.

Ahhh.... well there goes another 50 bucks.

Just bought the Squeenix/edios pack. Has Batman GOTY, all the Tombraider games, all the Hitman games, both Just Cause games + all DLC and a bunch of other misc games (Kane & Lynch, Deus Ex, Thief: Deadly Shadows, blah blah)
