Hey everyone, I'm currently trying to get the Super mod pack 2.4 mod working for my copy of STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl. However, due to the fact I've never modded a game from steam, I have no idea what to do.If any of you could help me I'd greatly appreciate it.

Also: Had any similar problems with mods?

What is your favourite mod?

I imagine you just need to go to steam/steamapps/common/Ess-Tee-Ay-Ell-Kay-Ee-Arr folder and put mods in there somewhere. Where STALKER should have the mod files, i have no idea.

And change the title to something less vague, please. This is not personal message, after all.

Usually, steam doesn't stuff with mods too much, it's generally the same steps, with the exception being that the game folder is in Steam\Steamapps\common\yourgamefolder.

A few games are stuffed up by steam when it comes to mods, but it isn't many.

Do I need to create a separate folder?

If there isn't a folder named gamedata in your S.T.A.L.K.E.R. folder then make one. All the mod files get crammed in there.

Also, in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. folder is a file called fsgame.ltx - open it with notepad.

In there should be a line: $game_data$ = false| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\
Be sure to change it to: $game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\

It's arguable whether the second thing to do actually works. But I make sure it's set to "true" just in case.

You will need a fast system to run SMP. Also, make sure you have the right game patch for it.
I never use steam for moddable games as I want full control of the version-patch.
