So Halloween is coming up and I just wanted to say hurray for my favorite holiday. Hurray for the candy, the costumes and everything else attributed to it, I love it all. So if you like Halloween, what is your favorite thing about it and why, and maybe what you plan on doing for this Halloween.

My favorite thing about Halloween is the scary aspect of it.

I'm a huge horror fan, so this is my favorite time to talk about horror movies and games. I don't do haunted houses because I think they're lame, not scary, and bad things happen when I visit them. The last one I went to I was dragged to, and the one I was at I was the poor bastard carrying a glow stick around since it was dark. Plus the two people I went with are easily startled. Long story short, my friend pushed me hard out of fright and I twisted my ankle.

In any case, I will be going to my early class, then watching horror movies until later in the evening to which I will be playing a horror game. Maybe Outlast, or Silent Hill 2 again. Not really sure.

Of course, Nightmare Before Christmas and Army of Darkness will be watched because they're awesome. :D

So far this year I've visited 2 corn mazes, one of which was "haunted" with ppl dressed as zombies, scarecrows, and 30 Days vampires, complete with that ear-piercing shriek. Then there was the local haunted house, $16 entry, that gets bigger with each iteration. I took my nephew with me. A lady behind us in line was actually in hysterics at the thought of going in so had to leave, always a good sign. I'm also decorating and carving pumpkins, carved 4 so far with a 5th on the way. Here's 3, and don't blink:

I'm considering turning these into a gif, maybe 8 or 10 frames. I had plans for this week outside of carving that just fell through so I'm not sure what might happen Thursday. I could wander the neighborhood in costume just for the lulz or could stay home and pop in some horror flicks, maybe play Outlast. I dunno.

Costumes! I love costuming and cosplay altogether! It's the one time of the year I have an excuse to dress up as someone else and not get odd looks thrown at me. It's even better when I'm older because I don't have enough time to go to conventions so it satisfies my love completely.

Well, I'm going to a Halloween party with properly-themed entertainment and costumes.

Never really been into Halloween. To me, it just marks the beginning of the countdown to Thanksgiving and Christmas. I don't really plan on doing much outside of possibly watching a horror movie and/or playing a horror game. I will, however, make sure that most of the music I listen to that day is from Halloween and Helloween.

I love the whole thing, the candy, the parties, the weather, the horror movies. It's my favorite holiday completely on its own merits, although Christmas comes closely afterwards, thanks to the presents, followed more distantly by Easter.

As for what I'll be doing: watching horror movies in my bedroom[footnote]Which doubles as a pretty good home theater. The sound matches or beats any commercial theater in the area, although the picture is just an old Sony Trinitron CRT, nice for its age but not HD[/footnote], with an eye open for any trick or treaters I may get. There won't be many in this neighborhood, but I remember growing up here, so I'm danged well gonna make sure that whatever kids do come by get some candy, since it wasn't much better of a trick or treating neighborhood when I was that age. I'll probably point any parents who come with the kids in the direction of the nearby neighborhood that actually does get into it, and has plenty of candy going around.

I've actually gotten a major jump start on the movies this year, been watching them all month. My mom hates violent movies, so I was deprived of R-rated classics of all genres growing up, and I've got major catching up to do. This year I've kind of made it my mission in life to do more catching up than I have in the past :p

australian here so i guess fuck halloween?
always wished we celebrated it here but the thing never caught on.

PRO TIP: if you got to a strangers house on halloween and try to get free candy you either get told to fuck off or get the extra special candy that makes you fall asleep and get molested.

I plan on going to a friend's house, drinking cider, eating pie, and playing cards against humanity.

It'll be a lot of fun. Unfortunately I don't have a costume. :(

I should make a pint sized slasher costume for next year.

I love the candy, but considering I'm a bit old for that, I'll just have top settle going to Halloween parties.

Hurrah for all those having a Halloween, and for those who don't or can't I feel bad for you but it doesn't mean you can't do something awesome. To all those having Halloween have a great one tomorrow is the day.

Tough costume to pull off. I'd imagine most people would take one look and go "who let the hipster in?." It'd probably be too optimistic to expect them to get the comic's term "indie kid," let alone "Hey, it's Marten from Questionable content!" Would be a fun way to mess with people, though.

Maybe so, but that will only raise my hipster/nerd cred! Wahahahaha!!
In all honesty though, there's a few guys I know that also read it, they'd get it. Everyone else will just have to not understand and listen to my death metal guitar skills because I'm using my pocket amp too.
