For those whole clicked on this forum thinking, ?Oh here is another religious nut talking about religion in gaming? you were wrong.
Anyway, assuming that anyone has any knowledge of Greek Mythology (or at least knows one god out of the hundreds) What I?m asking is which God would you want to be made into a game (excluding God of War for obvious reasons) and type of game, RTS or RPG, would you want it to be. And just for the heck of it lets toss in Egyptian and Norse Mythology to make the choices from hundred to thousands.

That. And BEER, AND BLOOD!

It must be a hack and slash, or at least an RPG. Or something like Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, but with awesome Norse Gods. Like Too Human, but not sucking.

As Ace_of_something Norse Mythology! The norse have the best Mythology of the old civilizations imo.

Also I think that the Age of Mythology did well the whole Mythology meets RTS thing. Is a great game.

I think Babylonian myth should be done. They say we are created by the blood of a monster! And a man tried to look for immortality with a friend. Co-op game anyone?

I have a feeling Dynamic Slash will have serpents that encircle the world. And you get to kill them. Wouldn't be out of place for Sandlot, the company that made a game where you can slap your enemy with a skyscraper.

Check out a game called Loki, it's a real hack 'n slash. It got boring for me rather quickly, but you might love it - the story was definitely awesome.

What these guys said. There needs to be pillaging and lots of drinking. Drinking MEAD!!!

Though if anyone wanted to put aphrodite in a game, I would not complain.

I think the best gods to have in a game would be the trojan gods, awsome mythology for plots, awsome looking armour and more legendary beasts than any other.

This. A lot of Norse mythology games didn't look very good and it would be so much fun to have.

I would say that Norse mythology seems perfect for the video game setting, what with all the intrigue and whatnot. Egyptian mythology, which I studied in High School a fair amount, really isn't well suited for the gaming world. There really isn't much conflict to speak of, except between Ra and Set, but that wouldn't really be fun to play. Norse Mythology, on the other hand, has plenty of gods and fights between them, as well as an entire separate world to place the game in (Valhalla). Greek mythology and gods, while complex and numerous, doesn't truly have much conflict either, just like the Egyptian gods. The really interesting Greek stories aren't the gods themselves, but rather the men in Greek fables like Achilles and Odysseus. So yeah, my vote goes for Norse mythology.

Hell, Norse Mythology has a "heaven" where warriors get thrown into an arena and resurrected every time they die. In fact that was the original plot idea for Quake 3.

Edit: I was right!

Ancient Egyptian mythology - beat em up. Sort of like bloody roar but with more magic and divinity. Playing as the hippo god (Set?) would be ace!

Set is not a hippo, he's some dog like creature's head on a man's body.
