OH MY GOD THIS LOOKS AMAZING!!!!!!!! Nerdgasm over. So lets examine what this movie's advertising does right compared to the '98 film. Most obvious is that this new one is not terrified to show us the title monster. Second, the trailers make it clear that monster fights are back. Last, we see damage money shots. I say that because in the '98 trailer I cannot recall, beyond the building Zilla plowed through, any significant destruction sequences. As a bonus if you came here, here are all the TV Spots for this movie:

Might I say I was skeptical of this Godzilla's feet when I first saw them. Now having seen them in motion they have grown on me. They actually look like feet that once belonged to a Theropod dinosaur like T-Rex or Allosaurus but have changed to accommodate the new posture and size. What do you guys think?

Edit: Might I add a funny detail for the familiar, Gamera is getting his own continuity reboot in response to this movie.

Awesomely enough, I know what one of the other monsters in this film looks like. As my workplace was stupid enough to put out the toys already. I'll spoiler the description, so those who want to wait can.

He is a black bug looking creature with four limbs. Two of which are large metal claws. He looks really frail as well, very skinny. I believe his eyes are in shape of a V and are red.

But, I'm still waiting for this movie. May will be a big month for me. Watch_Dogs(maybe) and several movies that look pretty cool.

Looking pretty good, while I want to see more of it but I think it's good they haven't reveal all of it (I don't want to get over exposed).

Words cannot describe how excited i am for this movie and non of the trailers i have seen up to this point have lead me to believe that this will be nothing short of the re-inauguration of the king of the monsters.

On a slightly less nergasmy side i like how they are only giving is glimpses still of the mutos (even though leaked pictures of the toy are out) and the human element seems like it might be worth a damn in this movie unlike other godzilla movies and wont be there simply because we cant have 90+ minutes of giant monsters fighting.

P.S has roland emmerich said anything about this film i know dean devlin has.

He was the producer and co-screen writter for the 98 movie
Oh? So what did he have to say?
It was basically two things, one a wish of good luck to Gareth Edwards and two and well due i would think an apology.

I couldn't find an answer to your question. The most I could find was an inset in Empire magazine where Roland pretty much said that he wasn't invested in the project because he wanted to do a movie about a meteor crashing into Earth, and G '98 dragged him away from it.

I didnt think he had. Though it is news to me that he was completely ambivalent towards the whole project.
