I believe in Steam, although I'm sad to see GOG go, as Steam NEEDS competition. If Steam is left to rule the internet in downloadable gaming, then they lose some of the reasons to have such great sales, and certainly won't bother rethinking their stupidly expensive prices for new games.

I do think they'll release a patch in the case of things going down, however, and if they're blocked from doing so, I think you'd find every game ever on Steam suddenly available patched on torrent sites. I'd feel no guilt in downloading games I'd already bought.

WTF happened, I was buying alot of games from then and all of the sudden they decide that this whole thing just randomly bores them? What a freaking scam.
There was a thread about this made not 24 hours ago. I understand this was a shocking thing for you but try to use the search bar next time. It might also help explain as to why it was shut down.

this thread is an hour OLDER than the one you linked to. But it's ok to ignore things when you can be elitist instead, huh?

I'm doubting that Steam is having the monopoly on digital distribution that others believe.

For all intents and purposes, Steam does provide a great service, which is why people flock to Steam.

I mean, there's still Impulse, the EA Store and a multitude of other places to go.

Is that why Mr. Newell is withholding Episode 3 from us?
See, I believe that Gabe is currently building a time machine. He's going to go to 2003 and release Episode 3 right when no one is paying attention. This way, when he does get out of the mob squad, he can say he released it but it didn't meet everyone's expectations.
