In what might possibly be the biggest necro thread in history, I call on people to discuss old topics before the Xbox, Gamecube, GameBoy Advance, and Playstation 2. No games/rumors for any of those consoles or the ones we have now. Tell us what you remember from before then!

I remember mining the channels in Sea Battle for the Intellivision.
From the same system (using the IntelliVoice): "Bogeys, 6 o'clock!" (B-17 Bomber).

Anyone remember how to hack Lock 'n' Chase?

Wow, that new Sega Dreamcast looks like it's going to be one hell of a cool and successful console.

I remember playing only the first levels of Gunstar Heroes over and over. And never beating the game due to having too much fun as a kid just blasting away at the infinite enemies.

I remember Hoshigami. Wow, that game was unforgiving. Nearly put me offa strategy games till disgaea.

The first ever games I played were starcraft(And I remember waiting for any sort of sequel) and Abe's oddysey(Probably breaking the thread but were there any news from the guys who made them, I hear it may involve some mudokons working for the bad guys or something, I don't remember)

And best of all,[rant] I remember when a game could be played with at least another person and at most 4 people, in the same room. I know it would reduce sales and you could talk about graphical capabilities but I remember when the N64 could do it[endrant]

Quake. Lots of Quake, mostly because it was only game that would run on LAN at my school. And of course Diablo/Warcraft2/Starcraft trinity. If i'd go further back then more obscure games, but didn't have access to interwebs to really discuss them.

The near impossibility of doing a 1080 in 1080 Snowboarding for the N64 and how the Need for Speed games were a lot more fun on the Gamecube (screw realistic racing, arcade racing ftw). Also, spending over 200 hours playing Battlefield 2: Modern Combat on the PS2 just to rank up to Brigadier General (in that game you needed skill to rank up, in the form of points per hour).

Secret of Mana. Loved it. Played it for ages. I'm pretty sure I was still playing it when the PS2 had been released. If I still had it I would probably play it whenever I could.

My god that game was incredible, one of the worst things that happened to me was somehow losing that disk so many years ago, and I haven't found it to this day. A couple of weeks ago it turned out one of my friends had the game too, and when we got to play it we found out it was exactly as great as I had remembered.

OT: "Crash Bandicoot 1 to 3, and Spyro the dragon 1 to 3 are some of the greatest games ever created. I can't wait to see what they do with those series next!"

Also, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, and Gex. Especially Gex. God I miss the PS1. Oh wait!!! Emulators exist now! Whoopsies, that's the future. Let's go to the arcade and pretend I didn't just perform prophecy.

I never had Motocross, but I did play some of EA's Racing Destruction Set (which *really* needs a remake) on my C64.
