Going grey...

I'm 29 and I've had a slight grey streak in my hair since 25. Lately though my chops (I have mutton chops) have begun to grey starting at the corners of my mouth. If my whole beard/facial hair goes grey, I'm growing a wizard beard.

Fuck it.

32 here. Just had the odd gray hair pop up once or twice, but nothing at all noticeable unless you're really looking hard. I do very regularly get some gray in my facial hair though. I wouldn't say it bothers me. I actually find it rather humourous.

Personally, I'd rather go gray than lose my hair. I've always had medium to long length hair, and I seriously doubt I'd look all that great without hair.

This is a question to any Escapists old enough to have this happen. What age roughly did you start to get grey hair? I've just recently started going grey, and I was curious. (FYI I'm 27)

Also, what are you thoughts on going grey? I know people who started to really stress out when the first grey hairs appeared, started dyeing their hair, and generally made like it wasn't happening. Me, I don't care...in fact I kinda like the way it makes me look.

Ah I started going grey when I was 18 and now, 11 years on, I am now a bona-fide Salt 'n' Pepper head.

A lot of people comment on it but, when pressed, admit it gives me a "distinguished" look, which I will take for the compliment that it is.

So bask in your grey-haired magnificence, good sir.

PS I could dye it but I refuse to buy any vanity-related hair products until I am at least 30...which happens in just over 2 months time!

When I was 12, some of my hair began to half-grey. Thankfully it's stopped now.

Good grief, you sure you're Asian?! (No disrespect, dear boy, but isn't that really rare for us?)

OT: Nope, full head of stupidly thick black hair (the number of sets of clippers I've ruined...), though... uh... I noticed a couple lighter-than-black hairs in my happy-trail last time I trimmed... :/

Anyway, a couple of my friends were going grey and balding in high school though... but, to be fair, they didn't look bad for it...

Still, if I've inherited my old man's genes, hair-wise, I won't go grey until I'm sixty... well, not on my head at least...

I'm 23 and my beard is starting to get paler. Not grey though, more like blonde.
I'm still better off than my brother, who started losing hair at 19.

Since I was fifteen. At this point my hair would look like Rogues', but the streak is in the wrong place. Damn it.

I guess that helped with the whole trying to get served in bars underage part of your adolescence.

Men in my family tend to go grey late 20's to early 30's. I'm anticipating the experienced look it'll give me.

30 now, got quite some grey hairs, primarily in my facial hair. My brother of 33 is about halfway, my mother was completely grey by the time she was thirty, and has the same type of hair as me, so It'll speed up soon.

Don't mind at all, never did. My mother has great white/gray hair

i dye my hair too much to notice...all i know is my hair constantly falls out and has done that my whole life.....though grey streaks in my hair would look pretty badass.....(I just turned 27 by the way)

Edit:

2 days before my 17th birthday I noticed that my moustache had a few grey hairs in it.

Since then the grey hair has been radiating outward, and is currently battling it out with the ever growing ginger streaks that are in my blonde beard...

I currently don't look old enough to be able to pull off grey hair (That and I don't think anyone can pull off a blonde/brunette/ginger/grey mixed beard...) so after noticing I just started to shave more regularly so it's not as noticable. Every now and then I let it grow just enough to see the latest update on the colouration...

Thankfully my actual hair is staying blonde for now.

My hair has always been very fine, ever since I was a kid. My hairline has receded a bit and it's not as thick as it used to be, but hopefully that's the last of the hair loss.

I wish it was gray... and that my hairline WAS receding, but it's not. Also while I'm dreaming, I wish I had a long, flowy, beard and not a curly middle-eastern one...

Its genetic. Some people get it in their early 20s. Heck I met one person who actually LOST all his hair by age 19. Man could by beer and never got carded.

In my family is around 30. I haven't seen any grey hair yet. (I'm 25)

I'm 32 and I only get the occasional grey hair. I still got asked for ID in the pub at 30. My younger brother (there's a two year gap) started going grey when he was 20, he was soon even greyer than our dad is now. The only downside for me is that no one believes I'm his older brother.

Well, I can't see them myself as I have very light hair, but my mother has claimed that I have a few (since I was like 17). Not that surprising, really. It's only if I had a ton of them I'd be worried. My family seems to have this genetic thing going on that when they get older their hair becomes much darker or black (my father was blonde growing up). My hair is still very light, though.

Very small sections of my newly grown beard are white, and i have a redbeard and im 19...
