So the Golden Joystick awards are currently being announced with Rich Hall as the host.

Action game of the year: Assassins Creed 2
Fighting game of the year: Super Street Fighter IV
Downloadable game of the year: Plants Vs Zombies
Music game of the year: Guitar Hero 5
Portable game of the year: Pokemon HG/SS
Racing game of the year: Forza 3
Best soundtrack: Final Fantasy XIII
RPG of the year: Mass Effect 2
Sports game of the year: FIFA 10
Online game of the year: League of Legends
Strategy game of the year: Plants Vs Zombies
Shooter of the year: Modern Warfare 2
UK developer of the year: Jagex
One to watch: Call of Duty: Black Ops
Ultimate game of the year: Mass Effect 2

id agree that isn't a bad list at all, i dont like all those games but i will give credit where its due and i think each one deserves its spot.
