The time has finally come. After many years of waiting, at Nintendo's E3 Conference, Golden Sun DS was announced to the public. Camelot has finally opened their ears to all the demand gamers have been ragging on in forums and blogs.

But now the next question is, exactly what is going to make the game the next-generation Golden Sun? New Djinni and summons have been done in the last sequel, so what more should be to come? I open thee thread to all Escapists to discuss. Feed my curiosity...

Hmm... make the Djinni Class system more clear. But that's minor at best. I had no problems with Golden Sun, it was truly a game with very little flaws.

It truly does, I could see enjoying better graphics. From the teaser that I saw from Youtube, it appears they really upgraded how summons are showcased. Using both screens for extremely intense visuals.

Just in case no one has seen it yet, here's the link:

Bigger map. And a longer game. The biggest dissapointment of Golden Sun 2 was when it ended, I wanted to keep playing T_T

I hope they don't use the touchscreen for weird casting minigames.
They also shouldn't try to make everything in 3D, I really liked the style of the first two and would prefer 2D but beautiful animations over rough polygon models with flat texture.

Man, I can barely remember how the Djinn system worked after all this time. You equipped one or more Djinni to each of your characters, and those gave them the ability to cast magic, right? And then they could also be summoned, but summoning them temporarily changed how they affected your characters?

Oh! Right! And different combinations of Djinn gave your characters different classes, which decided what magic they had! Right! It's amazing what you can dig out of your brain once you start thinking about these things. :p

Anyway...

I wouldn't mind a good touch interface (i.e. NOT the kind of interface used in FF3DS), and maybe make the spell-casting more exciting through touch-screen control? (Not mini-games, mind you, but rather something that could let you control accuracy/AoE versus power.) Dunno. I don't feel like I can really say there's anything specific I want, but rather just trust Camelot to do things right.

The only thing I didn't like about Golden Sun was how confusing it somethings was to find your way on the worldmap. Especially in Golden Sun 2. Not really a feature but still, that's something I'd like to see done better this time. Other than that: nothing. The graphics look awesome, and the Golden Sun formula can't be done better without making it a game that's drastically different (and probably not as good). Touch screen features won't make it a better game, nor do I think that an online feature will be a useful addition to the series.

I think that when you use 'Lash', you will have to pull the rope, instead of just having the game do that. And some other things like that.

If anything the puzzles should be made harder, and the djinn system reworked, or at least clarified

i couldnt really make sense of the classes that were created with the combos of djinn
