How do you get awarded the good or evil badges? If it is judged by your posts then who judges them? Can my more experienced escapists fill me in?

Basically, every member of the Escapist at the time was given a club and a kitten/fairy penguin/baby seal. Those who beat the animal to death got the Evil badge, those who didn't got the Good badge. The few who beat it, but couldn't bring themselves to kill it got the pussy badge for those who just can't commit to one alignment.
