Going mainstream for the month of June. These are mainstream movies that should have been more successful but for whatever reason never found their audience.

First up is the 2003 horror film Wrong Turn.

In my reviews I often dissect the movie. I don't give away everything but it still falls into spoiler territory. So please don't watch the episode if you are afraid I'll ruin the movie. I will say, I've have had numerous people that seek the movies out after they've seen my videos and told me the film was still highly enjoyable. So take that as you will.

With that out of the way, please enjoy the show.

Wrong Turn

Wrong Turn is a 2003 horror film from director Rob Schmidt. The film stood out because it was serious horror and not the tongue in cheek horror that was popular at the time. However, this could be a reason as to why it wasn't as successful as it should have been. The film has a great cast, great effects, a disturbing story, and is overall a very enjoyable feature.

Comments and criticisms are greatly appreciated.

Thats a really cool review. Kinda reminds me of the swamp folk in fallout 3 point lookout. Explained the story pretty well might i say, but i would have liked to know a bit more of the sequels unless they're CTRl=C. And i think i might watch some of the other reviews now.

Thanks for checking it out! Hope you enjoy the other ones as well. :)

You know, I didn't even think of that. I know the whole "inbred mountain men in the woods" isn't a new concept but the characters of Point Lookout do have some similarities to Winston's design.

I plan on doing a show on 2&3 at some point which I why I didn't go over them beyond a mention. 2 is quite different in the tone of it and why the people are in the forest. It is also so bloody it borders on the ludicrous.

3 is a bad copy/paste...really bad. It had a cool opening and then the whole thing goes downhill immediately.

Your video production is very well-done. However, it sounds like your reading a bullet-point list. You could work on the transition between sentences. I'd also suggest to talk a little faster too. (Fast talking kinda kills the bullet-point list effect a little).

Other than that, it could be a video on Channel Awesome or some other site.

I'm interested if you studied in some filming school or it's just a natural talent.

Thank you! I really appreciate the compliments.

Yeah, my cadence is a little dry sometimes. I have access to a recording booth where I do my audio but usually only in the morning. I've tried in the past to caffeine up but then I just come across too hyper. I try to clean up some of the transitions between sentences in editing but I was really strapped for time this week. Still, I am aware and even though I've been doing this for a while I am constantly trying to improve.

I've tried to get into Channel Awesome a few times but I am just not what they are looking for. It would be nice to get picked up some place but I know there is tons of competition out there. For now, I'm just happy people are enjoying the show.

As far as my background, I'm a communications major dropout and part time indie film maker. I've worked on a bunch of junk (mostly stuff for the 48 hour film fest and projects with friends) but nothing worth sharing. I recently directed my own first short feature and I'm hoping to have it finished soon. Shooting the second in July.

With video editing, I'm self taught using the full Adobe Suite. I have friends who are professional camera men, editors and FX men so often if I have a problem, they can offer advice.
