I was watching the review of 99 nights and I wondered, are there are any good brawl type games for the PS3? Do my fellow Escapists have any suggestions?

Wolverine Origins was good in my opinion. But of you are looking for things specifically Ninety nine nights style, see if you can find a dynasty warriors type game. Also Fist of the North Star Ken's rage is coming out soon which is in the same style. It's already out in Japan, just has not been released anywhere yet.

I Remember playing one of these types of brawlers on a PS2 in a game store way back and this style of game appeals to me, but having skipped that console generation and solely a PC gamer it would be cool if there was anything like this for PC. Anyone know of anything?

Sorry I couldn't help OP, but this seemed better then making another thread.

hack N' Slash
So, Devil May Cry 4 then.
Basically any game in which one character can swing a bladed or blunt weapon and hit 10 people at once, and they are capa ble of taking out anywhere between 100-1500 enemies per level

Wrong, brawler games are fighting games, specifically games such as Final Fight or Double Dragon where one goes through several levels fighting bad guys.

I'm not agreeing with the OP calling 99 nights a brawler.

Wasn't there a different term for that? Ah well, I loved Streets of Rage as a kid.

I don't think so. Maybe I've mixed them up.

Oh well, if it's proven that I'm wrong, I'll simply run away!
