James bond studio MGM is over 6 billion in debt as a result bond 23 is on hold. This makes me very sad as a longtime
Bond fan. What do you think will the movies ever come back or is 007 dead?

The new 007 film was finished ages ago.. It's just they don't have the money to publish and distribute it.
I wish some mysterious benefactor would come along and save the day...

OT: I'd actually prefer if they stayed dead. Quantum of Solace showed that without Ian Fleming's writing the stories aren't as good as they used to be. Let the series die out and come up with something new.

I did hear an (admittedly unconfirmed by me) rumor that Daniel Craig may not play the next Bond even if there is another movie, something about him maybe being a..."switch hitter", as it were.
I only heard it through word of mouth though, so take that with more than a few grains of salt.
Unfortunate to see a decent movie studio go down, but...well, if they need to ax/put on hold a movie series or cancel movies to stay afloat, that's their business.

But on topic to the question, I don't think he's truly "dead". They'll probably make more Bond films once they get back on track financially.

He's not likely to come back to the role because he will probably be working on something else by the time they reactivate the project. The hold on production frees him from his contractual obligation to the role (assuming they already contracted him).

I miss when Bond was kind of spiteful and snarky. It was always fun to see him kick a whole bunch of ass, and then take a minute to fix his bow tie and his hair Brosnan and Connery FTW
