So, while we're waiting for the Engineer Update to simmer down and servers to be repopulated with snipers and spys again, are there any good, cheap games that you can recommend me? I'm thinking about getting the complete Counter Strike set (because it's only £2 more than CSS by itself), but I'm also interested in any other ideas that people may may have.

(Also, I have Steam and Impulse, although I don't use Impulse much and prefer Steam.)

Torchlight, KotOR, Starcraft Battle Chest, Warcraft 3 Battle Chest.
Torchlight and KotOR are under $10 I think, and each battle chest has the game, and it's expansion for roughly $20.
And all of those are fantastic.

*deep breath*
- The Misadventures of P.B. Winterbottom
- ThreadSpace: Hyperbole
- Samrost 2
- Secret of Monkey Island
- Audiosurf
- Evil Genius
- Men of War (its $30 but BUY IT. NOW. The very least you can do to help defeat stagnation in games is to play the demo on steam and tell me what you thought of it)
- Defcon
- Blueberry Garden
- Freedom Force
- The Ship (if you have the capabilities of LANnin it up)
- Titan Quest
*breathes*

EDIT: - M&B:Warband (if it doesn't irritate all childhood joy from you)
- KOTOR
- Jedi Acadamy
- Nexus: the Jupiter Incident (it's my cup o' tea, but some people drink coffee...)

Mount and Blade: Warband. No idea what it is in US$; UK here. Great little game made by a Turkish company iirc on medieval combat and the full works. Not one of the highly polished games with wtfomg graphics but it is fun and thats what matters..

I think you can buy a cup and ball for a very cheap price.

Sorry, I had to do that. I guess you could buy that Counter Strike if you want.

You could just wait for Steam's weekend deals. They're usually amazingly cheap.

I Wanna be The Guy. You don't even need to use steam. Just download it on a random website. I recommend Acid Play.

Beyond Good and Evil
Condemned criminal origins
any of the Homeworld games
with Garry's mod I think Korsakovia and Dear Esther are free, but I could be wrong.
